Brick when was the last time both IU and Purdue were in the top 50 for their football recruits? Quote: National signing day has come and gone. The videos are done, the hats have been picked up, put down, tossed aside, then picked back up again.
Sports Illustrated published a list of the top-50 signing classes in the country. The top 10 was dominated by the blue-blood powerhouses with Notre Dame rounding it out at 10. Not shockingly the Irish finished as the top rated program in the state of Indiana. Their top recruit is Houston Griffith, a 6-1 cornerback out of Bradenton, Florida. 16 of Brian Kelly's signees are four-star recruits. Whoa. Don't look now, but IU and Purdue may be...football schools? Down at the bottom of the list Indiana shows up at 48. Right below them? You guessed it. Purdue. The Hoosiers landed Ronnie Walker, a running back from Virginia, a three-star recruit, and a top-20 running back in the country. 2017 Indiana Mr. Football Reese Taylor also headlined the Hoosiers class of 2018. Other local product Madison Norris (Hamilton Southeastern) is heading to Bloomington as well. Purdue rounded out the top-50 classes, sneaking in at 49 just below IU. Their prized recruit, Rondale Moore, comes from Louisville and is the number one rated high school player from the state of Kentucky. Moore is the only four-star recruit Jeff Brohm landed, but given the state of the program before he took over and it only being the second year of his tenure, this is a really huge signing. Branson Deen, a defensive tackle out of Lawrence Central, is also joining the Brohm Squad. Up next is spring football. Purdue's practices start February 26 with a spring game being played on April 7. Indiana will play it's spring game on April 14, and Notre Dame to follow on April 21. |

Iowa State landed Brock Purdy over Alabama & Texas A&M--supposed to be the next Baker Mayfield. 'cept he loves his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as much as Mayfield likes booze and bitches. Also landed WR Joseph Scates over Mich St., Alabama, LSU, Oklahoma & MANY others. Best WR signing since Allen Lazard, who was a legacy. #raisingthestandard https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-euHR8ujwWo https://247sports.com/Player/Joseph-Scates-89162 |

I was skeptical of IU hiring Allen but he seems to be proving me wrong. |

As an Illini fan, though, the Copper Bowl is just beyond my wildest dreams. |

I saw a report in the Sun Times about the Illini signing two preferred walk ons from Naperville. One was a guy named Calcagno. I wonder if his father is the insurance guy who has commercials on the Score. |
