Syracuse coaching legend Jim Boeheim struck and killed a man with his car on Wednesday around midnight, according to a Syracuse.com report.

A man in his 30s got out of his car after an accident on Interstate 690 in Syracuse, a source told the outlet, when Boeheim drove by and hit the pedestrian.

The 74-year-old Boeheim is cooperating with authorities, the report stated.

Boeheim, who police say was traveling a speed appropriate for the highway, tried to avoid the vehicle in the middle of the road.

You can't stop Boeheim when he drives thru the lane like that.

Look at politics and Hollyweird. 74 is the new 40's. The boomers will never age or give up anything. They will just die eventually.

The Onondaga County (New York) district attorney told Yahoo Sports on Thursday morning that there will not be any immediate legal ramifications after Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim’s role in a tragic and fatal car accident on Wednesday night.

“Not from law enforcement, unless something extraordinary or bizarre comes to our attention that we’re not aware of,” said district attorney William J. Fitzpatrick in a telephone interview. “In terms of a strict reconstruction of the accident, it’s just a tragedy.”

Fitzpatrick said that Boeheim struck a pedestrian who’d exited a vehicle on I-690 East at 11:22 p.m. on Wednesday night. Police identified the victim as 51-year-old Jorge Jimenez. Fitzpatrick said that there was a single-car accident that resulted in the car hitting the guardrail. All four occupants exited the car, and police said the accident occurred as Boeheim was attempting to avoid hitting the car. (The cause of the initial single-car accident wasn’t known.) Fitzpatrick said one of the occupants began “to wander into the oncoming traffic lane” and was struck by Boeheim’s vehicle.

Fitzpatrick said that Boeheim stopped and immediately attempted to render assistance. He called Boeheim “completely cooperative” with police and noted that he took a breathalyzer that came up with no trace of alcohol and didn’t appear to be speeding.

“All indications are that it was an appropriate speed for the conditions,” Fitzpatrick said.

The perfect crime. Looks like ol' Jim got away with murder. Brian Kelly would be proud

How old do you think the oldest licensed driver in Illinois is?

This was a question I heard asked on "Eric & Kathy" a few years ago. People guessed 92 and 94. The answer was 103. (The newsman made a joke that he was behind him on the way to the studio that morning.) There were hundreds of licensed drivers that were 90 in Illinois at the time, probably more now.
