Need a specific thread for the Big Ten given the fact they have the #1 team in the country. Purdue plays Iowa Friday to kick off conference play. This Purdue team is scary good. Caleb Furst is overshadowed by everyone else in the rotation but that kid reminds me a lot of Robbie Hummel. |

He grew up in Toronto so he was playing hockey until he was 16. Now imagine that 7'4 monster on skates. He was ranked 440th in his recruiting class and Painter found him. Might be his best recruiting job yet. He moved up to the 2020 class from the 2021 class and Matt Haarms transferred out as he knew which way the wind was blowing there. |

Big10 sucks, should just have a thread for Purdue since they are the only good team in the conference. |

Huskers in 3 OT against NC State. Game getting a little sloppy now, but it's been fun. Yikes, almost blew the Big Ten-ACC Challenge, but glad they won it. |

Purdue played sloppy with some awful turnovers by the guards, but they still hung on to win and secure #1 in the next poll. Mason Gillis, Jaden Ivey, and Trevion Williams all had some great contributions to the W. |

Man #1 in the nation Brick, look at you go! How long can they stay there? I am sensing a run at the 76 Indiana team! |

The current AP rankings have an odd feel: the SEC appears to be the best conference with half the league in the top 25 while the ACC only has 1 ranked team. |

Good to see the Illini in the fabled "springboard" spot (#26). The "under the radar" chatter between college coaches about the Illini will not soon abate, I'm told. |

I think they will. But whoever does it will surprise me. For your sake Brick, I hope it's not in the tourney like my Dee/Deron/Luther Illini. That's a heartbreaking way to end a dominant season. (Yes, I know they lost to OSU before that but that was a fluke - and UNC and Sean May got every call. But I'm not bitter.) |

But you guys had your chances against UNC and they were really good. Sure May got some calls, but that was not the difference in the game. But I love HOMER Noisy |

RFDC wrote: I have no recollection of the OSU game so I can't speak to that one. Last regular season game of the year, 3-point last second prayer from a full-court play with no time left at OSU. Ended the undefeated season. May got every call. It was ridiculous. It really was. He's not LeBron James. He was Sean May. Augustine had 10 fouls in the first 3 minutes and that team was not that deep in the post. |

Feb. 10, they host the Illini. A dozen doughnuts says the Illini take that game. My son is doing his Confirmation project on Big Ten basketball and he actually landed interviews with two Big Ten men's basketball head coaches, one of whom (correctly) tagged the Illini as "road warriors." (The other had many positive comments to make, but offered nothing quotable.) The first coach also predicted ("off the record" lol) that the Illini will beat Purdue at home. |

I never really thought the Illini were going to win. And I would argue that is only the third best Illinois team during my lifetime. |

Thank you for not taking my bet....I appreciate that. I may be rooting for Illinois to beat Purdue at that home game. The Illini can bolster their already shaky resume and Purdue doesn't have to have the pressure of being undefeated if they win @Michigan. |
