Indiana has had a great offseason. Tom Allen just continues to do work.

And they add a WR from Texas A&M today.

Most transfers aren't good. Maybe yours will be.

Report: Texas, Oklahoma contacted SEC about conference membership

Both Texas and Oklahoma expressed interested in making the move to the SEC, according to a report from Brent Zwerneman of the Houston Chronicle. In fact, an announcement about the the possible realignment might be on the horizon.

"Texas and Oklahoma of the Big 12 have both reached out to the Southeastern Conference about potentially joining the powerful league, a high-ranking college official with knowledge of the situation told the Houston Chronicle on Wednesday," Zwerneman writes. "An announcement could come within a couple of weeks concerning the potential addition of UT and OU to the league, the person said, which would give the SEC 16 schools and make it the first of a national super-conference."

SEC commissioner Greg Sankey declined comment in both the report itself, and to reporters Wednesday at SEC Media Days. Columnist Kirk Bohls reports that Oklahoma denied the "rumor" last week while the Texas administration was "very evasive."

I'll bet one day it will just be one conference and they will call it Division I.

Doesn't UT have their own TV Network? I'd like to hear about that negotiation.

They had their own Longhorn network before they joined the Big 12 & didn't cut the league in.

Sucking in the Big 12 not enough for Texas anymore? Need to get clowned by better competition now? Kansas can come play basketball in the B1G then.

This makes zero sense. Texas sucks and Oklahoma has a fairly easy path to the playoff.

Why would either seek this out? There’s not even a clear argument either - especially Texas - would get a cent more. The fine people at something called footballscoop.com tell me Texas and OU generate more revenue than all but two SEC teams.

I thought 2020 disabused Big 10 fans of the idea they were good at basketball.

Texas should be able to compete in the SEC. They have so much talent in that state. But the last 10 years or so they have sucked

Well now that everyone at UT can sell a t-shirt for $350 with their likeness, I suspect UT will get better than their recent history.

And will surpass them with every big increase in the price of oil.

Not really a B1G fan, but no point in having the Big 12 without those 2 and KU has to go somewhere.

They still have their own Network, I think AT&T is the only cable system it is on though.

So it is a done deal apparently that Texas and Oklahoma are going to the SEC, it will be interesting to see how it is divided up and how the schedule is done. I have to believe the Big 10 will be expanding now too.

Problem is that outside of Notre Dame and Syracuse , what schools are worth it?

This is all about football, in that case Iowa State is definitely a team to look at it.

Rather them instead of Nebraska. Maybe Virginia and Pitt as well instead of Rutgers.

At some point I feel as though the SEC will get too big and a smaller group will break off to form another conference.

The SEC Bluebloods of the conference would never leave.

I just find it ironic that a conference of schools so wrapped up in "tradition" , they have so little regard for it to cash in so obscenely. It's reminiscent of the NHL owners expanding in the 90s.

I genuinely don’t get it. They’re committing to a harder schedule and a high likelihood of less success. And for what?

This seems so dumb.

Iowa State has no chance. It doesn't expand the conference. Kansas is clear #1. Then who knows. Not another good choice since ND won't accept being an equal member of the Big Ten.

Way more money. And to get out of the minor leagues.

Problem is that Kansas offers nothing in football or tv market. And college basketball is becoming irrelevant aside from March.

 What Hawg said.

Kansas has nothing to offer. What big conference went after UConn? Football drives this.
