Is that the same LaBamba that was on Wright St.? Not sure I have the street right. They just moved out there? Seems like a strange place to move to, unless they didn't want to deal with the students any more.

I'm old enough to remember the Garcia's on Wright across from Altgeld Hall. That one was slices only, but I always preferred the slices to the whole pizzas. If I was 'flush" with cash and tired of the dorm food, I'd stop in for a slice after class and then make my way back south.

When everything else was closed, it looked delicious. When I stumbled upon it and saw it was open, it was like being on a deserted island and finally a boat passes by and rescues u.

I cleared a way to the bar there one night by lighting up a horribly smelling cigar. Stayed right there at the bar the rest of the night but ran out of cigar. Didn't need it any longer.

I liked the upstairs too. It was somethin' of a low-brow (cough) under-the-radar contrarian place to Papa Johns.

over 14,000 paid attendance at the damn game. However, it was reported that 6600 actually showed up. Not bad for a snowy night. But I still expected more for a Top 25 matchup.
