Post subject:  Coach K: Love Him or Hate Him?
There's been a lot of talk about Coach K recently, for obvious reasons. Most of that talk has been negative. I feel like the pendulum was all the way to the good 30 years ago, has now swung all the way to the bad, and is now due to swing back to the good again. Stated another way, I think a lot of the gripes are sour grapes. Thoughts?

no doubt a lot of it is sour grapes. He has had so much success and when that happens people naturally go against him.

He is a great coach.

A lot of respect for his coaching ability but was never a Duke or Coach K fan. Definitely looking forward to seeing Scheyer take the reins.

This and even Bernsie has the stories of his being an asshole. If Knight was t around to distract in the first 2/3 of his career people would have seen.

Pretty sure his story was K set up a social with ice cream for media and he just used it to complain how they were covering the team.

He was smart enough to know there's a difference between recruiting and coaching college v. the NBA.

I have no idea what kind of person he is nor do I care. He probably is a sleez like most at that level....his record speaks for itself. Good for him.

Those are my thoughts as well. However, if he is no better or worse than the rest of them, why is he hated more than the rest of them? Is he kind of a douche? Yeah. Are most of these guys kind of douches? Also, yeah. I can see just being tired of the guy, but I don't think he's really earned all the scorn he's received.
