I guess we’re 1 step closer to the Big 10 and SEC controlling everything.

As an Iowa State/Big 12 guy, i guess its good short term, but i still hate it

so when this all gets done what are we going to have like four 6 team divisions in the Big 10? And something like that in the SEC?

They need to just go to 52 teams from the Power 5:

13 teams in the first division
39 in 3 13-team second level divisions (North, South, West)
Each division plays a 12 game round robin with a week off.

That would let them do both a national playoff as well as a promotion playoff from the three second-level divisions into the first division. Lots and lots of TV revenue.

They should go to one conference and then break that conference down into regional divisions. Those regional divisions can play one another, and the best teams from each should play in a postseason tournament against the other regional champs.

Maybe create some lesser games for the lesser teams from each region as a test of comparative strength. Not important, but may be a nice bridge for football fans through the holidays.

Also Notre Dame should have a bye into the championship tournament and remain independent.

It's a shame this is 'amateur' athletics because this is the perfect opportunity to create a football league pyramid with relegation and promotion.
