Post subject:  NIU Football Deserves Some Recogition
they upset a (not great) Boston College on the road. A power 5 school is still a power 5 school. There has been almost no word in local media or even on the board.

Hopefully this is the beginning of a nice rebound to the great years of NIU football in the 2010s

My grandma used to buy me those weird Husky jeans from Sears when I was a kid, so I wish NIU well.

I think my hate of shopping has it's genesis in shopping for jeans and school clothes with my mom. I didn't even know what the word husky meant, but I knew I was going to a back section of the store or they were bringing out something from the back room. Couple that with polyester uniform shirts that were basically form fitting. Then my dad would give me a haircut with his home clipper. You can only imagine the mess I was showing up to school on Day 1.

Unfortunately, the MAC has been virtually destroyed by the changes in college sports. Would you rather start at NIU and only get a scholarship or sit on the bench making $50k+ at even marginal P4 programs? Then, when you show talent at NIU would you stay when you know you can get $100k+ playing at a good P4 program?
