Indiana University (and NOT the University of Indiana) is looking for a new football coach. An interesting name with NFL ties has emerged.

Bruce Feldman of TheAthletic.com mentions former Buccaneers and Raiders coach Jon Gruden as a "big wildcard candidate who has support with some key IU folks."

I have read that one booster with deep pockets has been trying to convince people to go after Gruden but no one else of importance has been swayed.

Some think it is going to be Jason Candle from Toledo.

I would guess Wommack would get some interest as well.

He would be fine. I am just going to assume anyone they hire is going to be bad.

An interesting name that I have seen mentioned is Antwaan Randle El

Lots of chatter about former Saban assistant and current James Madison coach Curt Cignetti being hired

Seems like a good hire. He's 62 years old though.

Yeah his age is definitely a mark against him. If he were 52 I think it would be a grand slam hire for this team all things considered.

Hopefully he can give them 7-8 years of a solid program.

But he will probably bomb like all the rest of em.

I just hope he is as unintentionally hilarious as Tom Allen was.

If he is bad we can hope he is funny and wears a whistle during games.

you wouldn't get him if he were 52. Be happy with the next decade of excellence at IU.

big 10 has really increased the quality of its coaching over the last calendar year
