Is Chris Beard too icky for IU nation?

Supposedly Beard wants the IU job really bad from some things I have read.

NIL money is going to be a major factor here. I think Indiana is a better job now than it has been the last few coaching cycles because of that.

With that said, I am not sure IU will hire Beard with his past domestic abuse situation.

That's my thought too, his past might not play in Bloomington.

Bruce Pearl has openly coveted the Indiana job. He might have hit his ceiling at Auburn and would bring some good players with him.

Isn't being the #1 team and the favorite to win the national championship everyone's ceiling? Indiana hasn't made the Sweet 16 in a decade.

It’s like the Bears. It’s been dreadful for a couple decades but there is so much heritage and passion there that the legacy you will gain restoring it to its glory days is unmatched by any other job. Those expectations and unrelenting scrutiny make it really hard though. It is fool’s gold. If you don’t have a Saban or Coach Cal run of dominance people will grumble, which seems preposterous considering how moribund IU basketball has been but it’s true. The refusal to accept anything other than dynastic runs is what creates a dynamic where even the in between is impossible and IU just wallows as a bubble team most years.

Its like how Ohio State fans are still not thrilled about Ryan Day.
