There are reports out there, that I would say was a fun football rivalry, especially when your a fan of one of the teams and live in Indiana, GO CANES, that Notre Dame and Miami would renew their series starting in 2012. Maybe the first game at Soldier Field. Notre Dame long ago prioritized Chicago as a future location for an off-site home game. And now the Irish are on the verge of rekindling one of college football's most spirited rivalries on the shores of Lake Michigan. Notre Dame and Miami are in serious talks to play at Soldier Field in 2012, and both sides are optimistic a deal will be worked out, a source told the Tribune. In fact, the unsettled issues seem aimed at bringing the Irish and Hurricanes together more often. Before the 2012 game is official, negotiations must determine the date for the Soldier Field game and the calendar for possible future meetings, the source said. Those future meetings likely would be a home-and-home series between the teams. I hope it happens. |

As much as it pains me as a ND fan to say it, oh boy, 2 past their prime programs meeting to make me remember when they were good. |

Bump, It's starting to look like it will happen. It's been twenty years since Miami and Notre Dame last met on a football field. Two years from now, that venerable eighties rivalry will reportedly be renewed. What has been a growing rumor for months is now all but official as the Chicago Tribune is reporting that the Irish and the Hurricanes will meet at historic Soldier Field on Oct. 6, 2012. The Miami Herald is also reporting that the renewal is a done deal, which has been at least three months in the making. In addition to the one-off at the Chicago landmark, the two schools have also scheduled a future home-and-home series; in October of 2016, Miami will travel to South Bend, while Notre Dame will return the favor and head to South Florida in November of 2017. The Tribune reports that the schools will not officially announce the series until, the paper writes, the Irish fill out a couple full seasons of schedules for the near term. The '12 game will mark the first time the two schools have met since the Irish beat the Hurricanes 29-20 in South Bend in 1990. |

Bump, There is a good chance this will be the matchup for the Sun Bowl, sounds like Miami is going, just not sure if the Irish will go here or the Champs Sports Bowl. |

If I wanted to watch two bad football teams play, I could just watch Bears vs. Lions tomorrow. |

I know the teams aren't at the top right now, but I think this is a big deal for the Sun Bowl, they crazy thing is they always played each other on CBS, this game is on CBS, one of 2 that isn't on ESPN. |

This sucks as an ND fan because during the broadcast I'm sure they'll just keep reminding me of how good ND used to be. |

Let me say something about that Kdiddit, if they do that, I am a Canes fan and hope the Canes win, but if the Irish win and the way Miami finished, they should, I think Notre Dame is starting to get back there. The defense is starting to play well, and the offense is starting to run the ball against USC without Armando Allen, so they are starting to look better and a win here could get them started going into next year. ND loses a quarterback, running back, and tight end for the year and finish winning 3 straight, and 2 of the 3, nobody gave them much of a shot in against Utah and USC. |

The game is today, Jacory Harris starting today for the Canes, I am hoping Miami wins, but if you look at it, Notre Dame is the more stable team today, Notre Dame defense played great to end the season, offense finding things like a running game and who knows how Miami's coach wanted to do, since this is his last game at the school. |

Jesus does Miami suck. Gonna be down 21-0 in the 1st quarter. Is this the same Notre Dame team that lost to Tulsa?! |
