One week from today, the Big Ten schedule kicks off with the epic battle between Indiana and Towson. I wonder who is favored.

Screw that game, I am waiting for the battle of Purdue and Western Illinois. But if you guys had any real balls you would schedule NIU.

 We've got Ball State and Toledo to help fill some wins.

Are you concerned about your road game at Western Kentucky?

NIU has Illinois and Minnesota on the schedule. I'm guessing they go 1-1 against those 2.

And Iowa State.

It's entirely conceivable that NIU could go 3-1 in non-conference games. I could see them beating Iowa State, they play North Dakota in week 2, and Illinois (sorry Dr Ken) in week 3.

 Fair enough. I do think you guys will start off 4-0 and make a bowl game this year. You just won't beat Purdue.

IF (big if) they find a way to beat Iowa State, in true NIU fashion, they will lose at home to ND STate.

Remember the year they beat Maryland, Alabama, and Iowa State? I believe they lost to WIU at home that year.

I definitely think their schedule sets up nicely for them this year and the opportunity to get to a bowl game is there. I do have to admit though that I feel torn about it all. Obviously I want the program to do well, but I cannot stand Lynch and if they get to a bowl game you can guarantee he will be around for awhile. So there is a small part of me that wouldn't mind seeing them completely fall apart so that maybe they would bring in a new coach next year.

One thing that is going against NIU this year is when they play Illinois and Minnesota. Many of the MAC/Big Ten upsets come the week before a very large rivalry game or a really big name opponent for the Big Ten team. For instance, last year, Michigan State and Purdue both lost to MAC teams the week before the Notre Dame game. Illinois has a bye the next week and Minnesota will actually be coming off a blowout loss to USC(classic bounce back game).

It's still Illinois

Iowa's coming out of the gates 3-1 (most likely) or 4-0, the game at Tuscon, Arizona scares the hell out of me, but will beat Iowa State, Eastern Illinois and Ball State.

Gamecocks may in trouble in this one.

Ohio St. took all of a bout 14 seconds (give or take) to score their 1st TD.

Big game starts at 7:00.

Indiana is starting to impose their will on Towson. RFDC must be ecstatic.

Never thought IU had a will to impose......

I'm gonna need another couple TV's once the NIU/ISU and Pitt/Utah games start.

You know it, it is the year of the Hoosier.

So you happy Purdue opens up with Notre Dame or would you rather have a couple spankies to beat first?

It's actually pretty funny with the obviously pro-IU announcers on the BTN. Everytime IU does something good they pretend like it's a sign that the player has really made a big improvement in the offseason. No, it's probably because they are playing Towson.
