Boise St. was my 2nd favorite team when they beat Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl, but they're becoming a bigger and bigger bunch of pricks as time goes on. I understand why that Oregon RB (Blount) took a swing at them.

Both sets of jerseys suck, we don't need need everyone to become Oregon 7 different jersey clones. There's a reason teams like Penn State, Michigan, and Texas have the best jerseys. I guess the concept is if you don't have a "classic" jersey just go opposite. Reminds of when a few years ago MLB had that back to the future or something promotion with the jerseys from the year 3000.

The jersey thing is all Nike. They did it last yr too. They took 8 teams and gave them this "pro combat" look. Ohio State has done it both years and I think oklahoma did it last year and Alabama will do it this year. They should both be back to the normal uni's next game.

Pro Combat? I bet Kellen Winslow Jr. is sad he missed out on these.

Boise St. D-line has been real good so far. Either that or Va techs O-line blows.

Boise St. needs to figure it out as far as the coverage goes. They have had 3 majorly blown assignments all resulting in big VT plays.

Boise has wet themselves since the 1st quarter. They better get this shit straight asap.

Huge run, but you can't have the extra point blocked.

I'm torn on Boise State.

I know they are good, and tonight is a big win, but at the same time I struggle with the idea that they could make the championship game with a schedule full of crap. I know the Big Ten, SEC, Big 12, etc. have bad teams too, but there are at least teams that can challenge the top teams any given week.

If Boise State beats Oregon state Sept. 25th, they'll go undefeated. I love that they have become a thorn in the NCAA's side & that many teams will not play them. The Broncos have one of the best QB's in College Football in Kellen Moore. Boise State doesn't rank in the top 50 in recruiting yet every year they beat ranked teams who are loaded with big time high school players. Chris Peterson is a hell of a football coach & his team can play with anyone.

I think this will end up not helping Boise State much. Virginia Tech looked horrendously unprepared in the first quarter. It really wasn't that Boise State was playing that well. It was that Virginia Tech looked like a bunch of freshmen playing a varsity squad. That blocked punt was so easy to spot live because there was literally no one standing between him and the punter.

Then, Virginia Tech showed for the next three quarters that they actually were a superior team. I'm pretty sure that if that game was the second game of the season that Virginia Tech wins because they were simply better for a majority of the game. This is exactly the problem with Boise State. There really is now no way to know if the first quarter was a fluke because there is no one challenging the rest of the way. An average BCS school would go at least 10-2 with that schedule and a top BCS school would easily finish 12-0.

It was a great win for Boise but I already don't think it was enough. I left that game thinking that the only reason Boise won was because they had a more veteran team who took less time to get adjusted to the season.

Good points Rick, but I think a lot of that has to be discounted since they won what turned out to be a road game. I'm not sure how anyone can conclude watching that game that either team was clearly superior. Both sides made a ton of careless mistakes that are indicative of the first game of the season. VaTech's just happened to all come in the 1st quarter basically while Boise scattered theirs through the game.

If these two teams played in Boise next week, I'd bet on the Broncos.

If Boise State can clean up that secondary they will be the real deal. They figured it out on the last 2 drives by Tech, but earlier those blown coverages were killers. They should be able to beat Beaver nation and run the table. I still am amazed by how V Tech owns blocking punts and kicks. How much do they practice this? Why doesn't anyone else practice it that much if it obviously works?

Many teams are sloppy early in the season. BS definitely had some lapses. What a great game to start the college football season though!

So you don't think they will end the season as BCS #2? I do. I'm predicting Boise St. vs. Ohio State in the championship game.

I don't think they'll be ranked higher than any team in the top 15 currently who finishes 11-1. I think pretty much any major 11-1 team will be over them even if they are undefeated.

It's hard for me to imagine that the SEC champion won't be considered to jump them based on a much stronger resume.
