Northwestern seemingly always plays Iowa tough. I'll be there rooting for Iowa to win, but taking the 12 points. How's that for being conflicted?

I'll be there with the pop-in-law. Ready for an overdue shellacking by the Hawkeyes. Sold out game... so the environment should be fun.

Is that the axe used on Ricky Stanzi last year? Maybe on Shonn Greene the year before?

Looks like I'll be there as well. I'll also be at Wrigley, though donning different colors.

Its a shame that Persa is out for the year. Maybe Illinois will at least be able to keep the game within 10 now.

Ouch - thought it was an ACL not Achilles. Tough loss and as I said with the Cat fans, there goes the rest of the season.

Iowa has lost their killer instinct. They just can't keep teams down after getting the lead. Disappointing. This team with the ability to finish teams is 9-1 right now, not 7-3. They got what they deserved. Cats wanted it more and got it.

Lots of questionable officiating. Lots of "no calls"... particularly holding. Only good part is I think it was evenly spread to both teams.

Clayborn was held and dragged down several times to no calls. I guess the ground was wet.

Same happened to the NU defensive ends and tackles. It was bad both ways. I saw Clayborn dragging down Al Netter by his shirt twice to get by him. Like I said, bad calls, but definitely didn't lose the game for Io_a.

No not at all. Iowa lost that game plain and simple. Hopefully you didn't get a rough ride from an Iowa fans - I heard alot of shit talking around me. I had nice conversations with a guy and his kid who were NU fans and some crazy old lady nehind us who screamed "CHEATERS!' at the top of her lungs every time Iowa did something right. She had me rolling.

I heard a lot of grumbling as we were walking out of that stadium. My favorite was this one:

20 year old overserved D-bag: I fucking hate NORTHWESTERN!!!!
Me: C'mon, what's to hate?
20 year old overserved D-bag: Because you're all fucking burritos!!!
Me: Fucking burritos with your "w"

Side note: It felt like we were the visiting team. I mean it genuinely looked like more Io_a fans than NU. Doesn't help that NU fans sit on their hands and don't wear much purple. Every hawkeye fan was dressed like it was the Rose Bowl. I'm humble enough to admit I'm a little more than jealous of that fan base.

That is funny. I was kinda teasing about the Iowa fan base a little bit. Road games always attract a different animal of Iowa fan. This was the Lincoln Park 20 something crowd. It's entirely different in Iowa City. It's more objective fans who understand the game. I told the fans around me afterwards good game etc. I heard alot of that bitching outside.
