Yeah, NU actually has a snowball's chance to make the tournament this year. But it still doesn't change my view of the man and the state of the program. I read this article about Coble and it makes me think Carmody continues to do more harm than good in player relations and recruiting. EXACTLY. He will be a hero if he makes the tournament. And then we'll be saddled with mediocrity for the next 10 years. Nothing is more painful than being a NU basketball fan... well maybe being a Depaul basketball fan is worse. |

That's really bad. Eventually, even if you disagree, you need to step back as a coach and do what is best for the program. Forcing Coble to either leave the team or go is really bad. |

Good win over GA Tech. Purple faithful think this is the year. Unfortunately if it is, expect Carmody to be around for another decade. Embrace mediocrity, Cat's fans. Although I suppose mediocre would be a drastic improvement. |

The folks on Rivals and Teddy Greenstein think it is B.S. Apparently, Coble said he wouldn't go to Italy with the team due to rehab... but then he promptly went to Hawaii for a family vacation. Either way it sucks for the team. |

Agreed. I'm not one of those. They all hate me on the Rivals basketball because I'm one of the only ones who is fed up with 10 years of Carmody and no dance. People are happy with some obscure writer suggesting "this might be the year!"... me? Not so much. |

I'm not picking on NU either. It's going to be tough year for the Illini to have their best team in a while as well. You could be a top 15 program this year and still finish 4th in the B10. As for Carmody, I just don't think his style is going to work in the B10. |
