Post subject:  MAC Championship Game Thread
NIU vs. Miami, OH (from Ford Field in Detroit).
It's on tonight, 6:00 Central time. ESPN2.

NIU is favored by 17 1/2. I'm sure I am not the only one appalled by that spread.



I expect this thread to be at least 3 pages by kickoff due to the overwhelming excitement that has been building for this game.

We're going to get smoked, but really happy with the turnaround this year. 8-4 from 1-11 last year.

So the winner gets to go right back to detroit in a few weeks for the pizza bowl? Having to go there once is bad enough, but twice for the winner is just mean of the ncaa.

The last 2 years, the winner has gone somewhere else, Buffalo to the now defunct Toronto Bowl and Central Michigan last year went to the GMAC Bowl. The loser in Ohio did go back to Detroit to play in the Little Caesar's bowl.

The yahoo bowl predictions have NIU playing Ohio in the Pizza Bowl which is absurd. Hopefully that matchup is far from reality.

They have changed it to Northern Illinois vs Louisville, I can't imagine 2 teams playing each other from the same conference.

Really? I hope so. This is what I was looking at and it hasn't updated to that. I think that is what it was a few days ago.

Yes, it is updated, I just went to Yahoo and then NCAAF and bowl projections. Of course it needs updated, they have Arizona State on their and collegefootballtalk.com says their bowl waiver has been denied.

I still say the worst bowl "reward" is a trip to Boise in late December
