It's a good thing it doesn't matter because the names and divisions couldn't be worse. No one is going to discuss "Penn State and Wisconsin are in a virtual deadlock in the Leaders division setting up to play Northwestern in the Legends"

Nope... the logo is supposed to look like a "10" in the word "BIG". But that's kinda worthless because it already says TEN. The old logo with the eleven was actually kinda cool. This one... not so much. And as far as the division names goes... I think I just swallowed a bit of throw-up.

The trophy names are horrendous.

Ok...that got weird...

On M&H this morning, Delaney cited Va. Tech as a specific reason as to why they didn't use geographic/regional names for the new divisions (such as directions or "lakes" and "plains" etc.).

Couple things:

1. I think the names of the ACC divisions are probably the best examples out there right now. They are somewhat non-traditional (not just directions), but they also work in the actual names used in the conference - Atlantic and Coastal.

2. He said Va Tech is a mountain school - true it's not on the coast. But who cares? The name of the division doesn't change anything about the school, their sports teams, or their divisional alignment. The state that the university is located in is an atlantic coast state.....similar to the way that East Lansing isn't on a lake, but safe to say that Michigan is a Great Lakes state.

He did make some good points as well about other things, I just thought it was odd that he specifically mentioned Va Tech as a reason they went with Leaders and Legends. (Bad).

IMO - "Leaders" and "Legends" is probably the worst named divisions in all of sports that I am aware of. Way worse than the Rams being "west" or Cowboys being "east".
