1. Jadeveon Clowney. #1 recruit won't announce until Wednesday. 3 of top 4 recruits haven't given verbals. 2. Andrew Smith changes verbal commit: Northwestern landed two Ohio-based 2011 recruits on Monday, receiving commitments from outside linebacker Andrew Smith and defensive end Deonte Gibson, according to multiple reports. The 6-1, 200-pound Smith was previously committed to Cincinnati and is the 64th-ranked outside linebacker by ESPN Recruiting. He played at Colerain in Cincinnati. ESPN Recruiting described Smith as “very active and productive against the run. Has the athleticism and height for the outside linebacker position at the major level of competition; will need to add bulk to his frame which should not be a problem. His steady open field tackling skills along with his kickoff coverage ability suggest a productive player on special teams. This prospect demonstrates the flexibility, balance and agility to play in space.” The 6-3, 230-pound Gibson was previously committed to Pittsburgh and is the 108th-ranked defensive end by ESPN Recruiting. He played at Saint Edward in Lakewood, Ohio. ESPN recruiting described Gibson as “an active and physical defender. He has solid size though may not be as big as listed. He plays defensive end and while there could be a possibility that he moves to linebacker in college, we feel he will most likely stay at end at the next level. He displays the frame to be able to add more bulk once he gets into college weight program. He can help himself at times by crowding the ball more, but displays for the most part a good get-off. .. He is a physical kid that can get good leverage and deliver a pop and hold his ground.” |

are these rankings even accurate? if you took the last 15 years and compared these rankings to actual players drafted to nfl are they accurate? ... |

The Deonte Gibson land was a much bigger deal. The kid is a beast of a defensive end on the Div 1 state Champs of Ohio, St. Edward Eagles. Kid was committed to Pitt until the Wanny stuff happened. Now he is a Wildcat. We are in major need of D-linemen. However, you don't just put a true frosh in at D-linemen. They need to bulk up big time to compete in a Big Time conference. I think you'll start hearing his name again in about 2-3 years. P.S. hopefully that will be the end of my creepy highschool recruiting report. |

Player312 wrote: are these rankings even accurate? if you took the last 15 years and compared these rankings to actual players drafted to nfl are they accurate? ... ESPN magazine just did a thing where they looked at the past twenty five years of overall #1 football recruits to see how it felt to be a #1 -- one of the guys from back in the day is now in jail awaiting a rape trial, but I'd say overall the majority had some success in the NFL, a smaller minority were all-stars, and even smaller were total misses... probably about six or seven that were major flops... too busy to look it up. But I would say 9 or so were all-star caliber (if not HOF), and about 11 or 12 were serviceable NFL players. |

i may be wrong , it seems notre dame is top 15 in recruiting class often... justin tuck is the only man to make noise in the nfl in a long time from south bend. |

Since we all may be snowed in, this thing could get the highest ratings ever with all people needing something to do. I don't know how many people have seen the highlights of number 1 guy Jadevon Clowney, this guy is a freak of nature. |

I hear Duh Ohio State University has a bunch of high character recruits CLEVELAND, Ohio -- John F. Kennedy High football player and Ohio State University recruit Chris Carter was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of fondling as many eight girls while pretending to measure them for ROTC uniforms. |

Indiana seems to be having a solid day for Kevin Wilson. Got a 4 star LB in Zack Shaw and a nice TE in Jake Reed. Also this past years Indiana Mr. Football QB Tre Roberson |

That worked out well if he committed to U of I. He could cash his check from them right on the spot. |

Sounds like tommorow we will get Clowney's decision, could be down to Clemson or South Carolina, with the Gamecocks being the favorite. |

I just read an article detailing the recruiting process of Clowney. The guy can barely speak English. |

If you have a 2.5 Core GPA all you need is 17. If you have a 3.0 You need a 13. 2.0 you need a 22. http://www.ubathletics.buffalo.edu/compliance/slidingscale.pdf |
