I think the college players should form a union. If they were ever successful then they could successfully demand compensation from the NCAA. If a whole team from a big school decided to hold out together they would have all the leverage in the world.

I don't see how they'd have leverage. They'd likely have their scholarships revoked, which means many would be forced to drop out of college, and they would likely not be viewed favorably by the alumni who can give them connections after graduation.

They'd be smarter to skip college and go play minor league arena league football if they wanted to make money. The only issue is that they'd likely get paid less than $20k a year for it.
