With McQueary now out of the game against Nebraska due to threats, there's now some speculation that McQueary did actually go to the police after what he saw and it got buried by the police and PSU. That's all rumors at the moment but anything's plausible with this clusterfuck. There are some (some old) interesting articles about the Baylor assistant coach that blew the whistle on the basketball program after the Dennehy murder. 8 years later he's still blackballed out of coaching and Dave Bliss, the guy he got fired for saying a guy whose scholarship he paid for illegaly was selling drugs to pay for school, has a job in basketball. They did tell the coach, you might want to keep him off the sidelines. |

He's out. Shouldn't have been an issue in the first place. |

And I understand Agg Bob's point that the players on this team have done nothing wrong (at least as it relates to this story), but the real issue behind the whole thing is the worship of football over everything else. |

I disagree to a point. Yes, the worship of football is ridiculous. However, ending the football program would pretty much kill the entire athletic department as well as many other things at Penn State because they provide $480M per year to the school. Without football, Penn State no longer exists. While some would argue that is fine, there 90,000 students plus faculty plus the entire area of around Penn State that rely on the University. That being said, at the end of this year, the every single person (except players) that are now part of the football program need to be fired. |

If money were not a factor, the proper thing to do would be to end the season immediately. I still wonder if the school will accept a bowl bid. |

Suprisingly, Penn State could still go to the Rose Bowl, they lead the conference. |

Even if Penn State, makes the Big 10 title game and wins that game, they would be Big 10 Champions. |

I'm not sure BCS bowls have a choice, or at least they have some choice but one would eventually have to take PSU if they were B1G champs. |

Found this on the BCS rules: 1. The conference champion of the six BCS conferences must have an average ranking of 12 or higher for a 4-year period, or the automatic selection may be revoked. 2. Only two teams from a conference may participate in BCS bowls regardless of eligibility. 3. Becoming BCS bowl eligible does not garantee an invitation. |

but, above and beyond those rules, there are contractual tie ins. I suppose the bowl could break the contract and accept being sued for damages as well as having the conference and possibly NCAA be angered. |
