This was probably in the works before last Monday's game, but now there is talk of a plus one coming to college football in 2014, basically a 4 team playoff.
THey did say last week that 50-60 proposals were out there and I know it's easy to say, let's do a playoff, but you still have to sort some things out.
1. How do you get the Final 4, BCS Rankings, does a team have to win a conference, how do they work independents in, like Notre Dame. If for Independents, like Notre Dame and say they need to go undefeated, why wouldn't Notre Dame schedule Patsies.
2. Where do you play these games, I would say Orange, Sugar, and Fiesta, I will bring up the Rose later.
3. When do you play these games, do they still get about 30 days off and play Jan 1, or have the Final 4 play Heisman Saturday and now is Army-Navy day, and if they did that, do the 2 losers still go to bowl games and who knows if they would want to show up and play.
4. Maybe somebody knows this, but what does the vote need to be to get something through, I can't see the Big East approving this because it could be a miracle for them to have a team in the top 4, sounds like the Big Ten won't agree, if they let bowl officials decide, the Rose would never agree. I could see the Big 12 and SEC agreeing, not sure about ACC and Pac 12 and do the other conferences get to vote, like Mountain West and some smaller conferences.
5. If they care about the fans, would they give a special deal to them since they would have to travel to 2 bowl games, because some save all year just to go to 1.
I did think of one thing that could happen, if they went to 16 team 4 super conferences, that may be the way to go, but will this be done in 1 year. Break those down to 8 team leagues in each conference and the 2 winners play each other, to have the FInal 4, that could be the way.
