Big news down here in Mizzou that the #1 recruit in the nation WR Dorial Green-Beckham is staying close to home and going to Missouri.

Indiana signed 25 guys today and I really interested to see how the junior college transfers do. They are making a big push to get better on defense quickly through the junior college ranks. Guess they cannot be any worse.

The QB Sudfeld is supposed to be pretty good.

Enrolled Jacarri Alexander Highlights LB 6-1 234 Winter Haven, Fla. (Iowa Central C.C.)
Enrolled Cameron Coffman Highlights QB 6-2 191 Peculiar, Mo. (Arizona Western C.C.)

Enrolled Ryan Thompson Highlights DB 5-10 186 Pontotoc, Miss. (Itawamba [Miss.] C.C.)

7:10 Tanner Kearns Highlights TE 6-5 225 Lexington, Ohio (Lexington H.S.)

Yeah, I know and the people in Arkansas are disappointed. Nice pick-up by Mizzou, but they are going to need it to compete.

Northwestern had probably their best class ever or at least in the last 15 years, but still will probably only rank 8th in the Big Ten, I'm guessing. Highlights are Ifeadi Odenigbo and transfer Kyle Prater (doesn't technically count as recruit). Oddly, NU didn't get a QB. Wonder if that plays a role in getting Matt Alviti for the 2013 class. I wouldn't be surprised, but I think that it is a mistake not to take one QB in every recruiting class.

•This year's class features 10 offensive players, 10 defensive players and one specialist.
•Northwestern's 21 commits hail from 10 states. The Wildcats signed 13 of their 21 players from three states-five from Pennsylvania, four from Illinois and four from Ohio. Northwestern also landed players from Texas (2), California (1), Florida (1), Kentucky (1), Massachusetts (1), Michigan (1) and Missouri (1).
•In addition, Northwestern announced this past weekend the addition of highly touted wide receiver Kyle Prater (Maywood, Ill./Proviso West), who is transferring to Northwestern from USC.
•The breakdown on NU's signees, by position: offensive line (4), defensive backs (4), defensive line (3), linebacker (3), wide receivers (2), running backs (2), superback (2) and long snapper (1).

Northwestern's 2012 Recruiting Class
Terrance Brown S 6-1 195 Los Alamitos, Calif. Los Alamitos
Stephen Buckley RB 6-0 178 Forney, Texas North Forney
Adam DePietro OT 6-5 270 Lancaster, Pa. Lancaster Catholic
Chris Fitzpatrick LS 6-2 230 Lawrenceburg, Ky. Anderson County
Traveon Henry S 6-1 200 Lauderdale Lakes, Fla. Pine Crest
Joseph Jones S 6-1 200 Plano, Ill. Plano
Malin Jones RB 6-0 205 Naperville, Ill. Joliet Catholic
Greg Kuhar DT 6-3 275 Concord Township, Ohio St. Edward
Dean Lowry DE 6-6 230 Rockford, Ill. Boylan
Connor Mahoney DT 6-4 260 Malvern, Pa. Malvern
Mike McHugh WR 6-3 185 Kirkwood, Mo. Kirkwood
Ifeadi Odenigbo OLB 6-3 217 Centerville, Ohio Centerville
Eric Olson OT 6-6 285 Sudbury, Mass. Buckingham Browne & Nichols
Ian Park OG 6-4 295 Pittsburgh, Pa. Upper St. Clair
Kenton Playko OT 6-5 270 Lewis Center, Ohio Olentangy
Jaylen Prater OLB 6-0 215 Hamden, Ohio Wellston
Andrew Scanlan WR 6-2 200 Royersford, Pa. Spring Ford
Jack Schwaba SB 6-4 225 Upper St. Clair, Pa. Upper St. Clair
Dan Vitale SB 6-2 220 Wheaton, Ill. Wheaton-Warrenville South
Dwight White CB 5-10 178 Cypress, Texas Cy-Fair

Purdue had the best class they've had since Rivals started. It lacks the star player that would have made it great but they got quality with pretty much everyone.

Hope is doing a really good job of building up a lot of depth. Hopefully he can translate that to wins.

Yeah. Purdue loves to stockpile QB's.

Sounds like Purdue stole an Illinois recruit. Sorry Irish Boy.

There is a recruit named Joey Warburg who was set to go to either Arkansas or Illinois. It looks he may have been a soft verbal to Illinois. Somehow though, he decided to go to Purdue in a surprise announcement for us.

I think this is the first signing day I have seen about a Player's Bio was against a High School that I went too.

One of Purdue's recruits from the Lafayette area, reading on Collegefootballtalk.com.

All the assistant coaching changes at Wisconsin seemed to impact recruiting. I'm surprised they are as low as they are... especially after winning the B1G. I was disappointed we lost one lineman to the Badgers.

The class was really small.

Wisconsin is fine, they got some good recruits in the small number they signed.

What you worry about is Ohio State won't be going bowling next year and they already have a top 5 class. So some players may have avoided them, but not many.

They pull off a 10-2 season next year and they will be loaded with Braxton Miller still having 2 years left, so the Buckeyes could be back to national title contention soon.

ESPN had Alabama number 1 earlier in the day, don't know if it changed later.

Wisconsin offered and tried to take one of our OL recruits, Levon Meyers. We signed the top two OL recruits in Wisconsin.

Then Brett Bielema complains about other coaches recruiting tactics when he's doing the same thing to other schools.

I still don't know what Bielema was talking about but I assume it's the fake agreement between Big Ten coaches not to go after recruits committed to other Big Ten schools. There is no such agreement with the Big Ten and any other conference so it's not the same thing.

What's odd is that no bitches about Mark D'Antonio and he does it all time. Tried to do it with Jaleel Johnson from Montini who has been committed to Iowa for months and wanted him for a last minute visit.

Bielema used to wait until Iowa offered someone and then he jumped on them - it always was comically.
