That kinda seems like theyre in the ACC Still not eligible to play for ACC Championship or win the league title. Also still allows them to maintain the NBC contract by scheduling OOC opponents in South Bend. Still don't see why this helps them in other sports. |

This is basically the arrangement Notre Dame wanted from the Big Ten in 1994 and 1999. Exit fee is $50 million. When Miami left the Big East in 2003 the exit fee was $1 million. Each ride on the merry-go-round is becoming significantly more expensive. |

That NBC Sports' contract is huge, especially for football and keeping them independent. That NBC deal expires in 2015 for Notre Dame Football. |

They cannot leave the Big East until 2015 without paying an exit fee. |

Don't like it. I don't like any of the realignment stuff. Everything should make sense, more or less: Pac 10: West Coast Big 12: Plains Big 10: Midwest Big East: Northeast and/or Catholic schools ACC: Southern Mid-Atlantic SEC: more or less the Confederacy Now everything is cockamamie. Boise State is in the Big East now, isn't it? |

yeah I am with you CH. It does not make sense at all. West Virginia in the Big 12? Nah. It seems each year I care less and less about college sports. |

The sociological dynamics of bringing Texas schools into the ACC are interesting. If you watched the SMU documentary, you'll notice the disgust that many Texans had for bringing in some Mississippi cracker to coach their team. On the other side, you still have the genteel True Southerners who are distrustful of letting those rompin' stompin' cowboys into their conference. I always chuckle at the dominance of the SEC. Where is it most popular for black people to do unpaid physical labor in sweltering heat? Why, in the states where slavery was legal! |

What I've seen as the reasoning is being able to increase their visbility up and down the atlantic coast....I've also seen a backhand at the Big Ten citing that if it was about the money, they would have went to the Big ten. Adding on - so who will get screwed? They have to play 5 games against the ACC They are on record saying they want to keep Stanford, USC and Navy on the schedule That leaves four games to schedule teams like Purdue, MSU and Michigan plus anyone else they might like to play. |

Just worded stupidly from my phone. I'm a bit surprised the BE exit fee is still $5 million. That's what they raised it to try to trap BC. Then again, the best part about being in the Big East is how easy it is to leave. |

This is huge for area baseball players. A northern baseball team that gets to play top competition like Miami, Florida St, North Carolina, Georgia Tech, North Carolina St, Virginia and Clemson. This will keep some very good ball players close to home. |

They'll be full time ACC by 2020, just baby steps. Gino Auriemma just wanted them out. |

You need a scorecard to keep up with all the changes in college sports. The Big 10 (with 12 teams) has Penn State & Nebraska, the Big 12 (in name) now has West Virginia & the SEC now has Missouri & Texas A&M to name a few. |

Notre Dame should be in the Big Ten, but of course that would make way too much sense. |
