You up for a signature bet on the game Brick?

If Indiana wins this game do they go to the Rose Bowl?

Sure, though if we lose to IU I may not post for weeks.

 Rose Bowl and Indiana, that is still funny stuff

signature through the national championship game? Sound fair?

Sounds good, though you likely get the better of the deal as there is actually something worth being excited for with Indiana athletics.

You think? Obviously, I am excited about basketball. But I go back and forth on football. One week I really like what I see from Indiana under Wilson and the next week I don't care much for him. He seems like a really smart dude and he has them playing really hard. But I don't know, something about him just rubs me the wrong way. I want to be excited, but I am struggling with it. But hey we got a top 4 stadium...

I meant basketball.

Football is getting better, but I think it's a lot like what we saw with Hope. The direction is forward, but it's hard to tell if it's just because of how bad they were, or if it's real progress. He's a better coach than Hope though.

I just hope this game isn't terrible to watch, as many of these games have been.

That's why I wanted the signature bet to keep me interested.

This should actually be a pretty good game. Purdue favored by 5 1/2

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Let's not get carried away. It might be a CLOSE game, but nothing these teams are putting on the field should be misconstrued as "pretty good".

Where is Coach Hope's whistle? Does he not wear it anymore?

 Announcers just said this game has the makings of one of those classic Bucket games. What the hell is that? 2 bad teams playing a game no one outside of a few fans care about?

IU loses again.

Shocking.

Is this program on the right track at all?

Actually very much so. Where they are coming from isn't saying much but they at least have been competitive this year. Baby steps.

How was their recruiting class? Do they lose a bunch of starters?

I don't know if this was exactly a compliment to Purdue either.

At least the author has Purdue going to a bowl they literally cannot go to this year.

Quote:
Purdue 56, Indiana 35: If college football has an immortal who aches for the sweet release of death, it is Robert Marve. The quarterback has wandered the wastelands of the sport—because that's what Miami and Purdue are, if we're being honest—for what feels like decades now. Injured in an automobile accident in 2007. Suspended after punching a car mirror and running from the cops in 2008. An ACL tear in 2009. Another ACL tear in 2010. Implicated in the Nevin Shapiro scandal in 2011. What was it that Robert Marve needed to find to be freed from his student-athlete prison?

The answer: a 300-yard, four-touchdown passing game, both of which feats Marve achieved for the first time in his career against Indiana. Bless you, Hoosiers. Thanks to your defensive incompetence, the sands of time will finally run out on Marve at the most fitting of burial grounds: the Little Caesar's Pizza Bowl in Detroit.

Of course, there were other beneficiaries of Indiana's largesse. Purdue's offense entered this game averaging 19 points a game in conference play. The Boilermakers proceeded to score 21 points. In the third quarter. And then again in the fourth quarter, on the way to only their third 50-plus-point effort in a Big Ten game since 2000. The defensive unit in all three of those games? Hoosiers, one and all. A difficult blow for an Indiana team that came just two wins short of appearing in the conference championship game, and yes, that Maryland/Rutgers thing does make a lot more sense now.
