B1G probably in trouble since all the teams are 1 or 2 slots higher than they should be with tOSU and PSU ineligible. |

Northwestern got hosed for the Cap One and Outback, but they have the best shot at winning. |

It doesn't matter much, because we all know the Big Ten sucks and they do have the built in excuse that the best team and one of the better teams is ineligible.Purdue should probably be in the Liberty Bowl. |

I think its pretty safe to say that this Bowl season looks like the worst piece of crap in years. Besides the National Championship and Oregon/KState, there is very little that I am interested watching. |

"If you beat or you get beat by Northwestern, you don't achieve as much as playing Michigan with their stature, tradition and reputation," Spurrier said. "It's something special." Pitt will go to the BBVA Compass Bowl for the 3rd year in a row with 3 different coaches. |

Well, I'm not sure who in their right mind would pick a school that: 1) Had a worse record 2) Had lost to the team we're comparing it to 3) Has a fanbase that maybe 100 times smaller I'm certainly not bitter... but Spurrier can go fuck himself. |

I felt that they were destined for the Cap One for a single reason.....Nebraska was just there and the Cap One typically does not like to take fans year after year. Once the Cap One decided to stick with tradition and take the highest available team, you knew Michigan would jump NU and NU ended up at the Gator. |

I guess I kinda think NU is where it belongs. In a normal year, you'd have Ohio State and Penn State bowling too, so I would suspect we'd still end up at the Gator Bowl. It's fair... and let's be honest, Northwestern really needs to finally win a bowl game. And Miss State is probably our best bet. P.S. anyone know ANYTHING about Jacksonville? |

If money is no object, I'd recommend Ponte Vedra. If you are looking for something more mid priced but on the beaches, Amelia Island is the way to go. If you are willing to spread your search a little farther, there are some fantastic places with 1.5 hours in Georgia. You could probably also stay in St. Augustine which is the nation's oldest city. I wouldn't stay in Jacksonville or waste my time attempting to tour it. |

Thanks good dolphin. Much more helpful than Big Chicagoans well thought out retort. Is there a specific area that most go to for drinking? I'm guessing Amelia Island could make sense unless its an hour away by cab or something like that. |

Amelia Island is close enough that shuttles run all the time. It's suburban Jacksonville maybe 15-20 minutes away. The one thing about going to a beach resort is that it isn't going to be that warm at that time of year. I'm no Tommy Skilling but I would imagine average temperatures in northern Florida for Jan 1 are highs in the mid 70s lows in the upper 50s. Warm compared to here but not beach weather. |

I will say Besides the Fiesta, and National title game, looking forward to CHick Fil A Bowl with Clemson vs LSU and Holiday Bowl UCLA vs Baylor. For the Big 10, I would say Purdue and Minnesota could be in trouble, but the others could go either way. So may have been a bad season for the Big 10, but could see a decent record in the bowls. |

Good thing you said that. I read on laketheposts.com (NUs football blog) that Amelia Island is actually closed until March. I assume they mean the beaches. |

I imagine that means the public beaches. No way they are closing resort beaches over the christmas break. If you are bringing the kids, Orlando is just over 2 hours away. I imagine it is crazy expensive that week. |

I would not expect it to be crazy warm either, it will fill warm but I wouldn't plan on getting out in any water. |

I found out that means only the Omni Plantation on Ameilia Island because they are doing a big construction project. But on to the game... it's gonna be the best bowl ever... how can it not? Those Taxes need to be Slayed, damnit!!! ![]() |

Of all the bowl games as of right now, Purdue is the biggest underdog at 17. |

i had completely forgotten that northwestern is on.... i just turned it on to see them up 10-0 and they've got the ball and they're moving it. i'd love to see northwestern cap off another solid season with a convincing bowl victory... hasn't it been awhile since NW has won a bowl? |
