Agree with the number one seeds? Who shouldn't be in who should be in? Matchups you can't wait to see? Final Four...start your engines :)

It doesn't make any sense that the 4 play-in games aren't all for the 16 seeds.

I thought that was done because the bubble teams are usually far better than some of the shitty conference champs and thus the 1 seed would end up more like an 10th seed instead of a 16th.

Doc, what is your thoughts on Illinois's prospects in this deal?

But it's not really a play in anymore.

They don't differentiate between any of the teams as i understand it. Everybody is considered "in the tournament". So, the eight worst teams should be the 8 that play for the 16 seed. It does not matter if they're automatic or at-large it should just be the eight worst teams. But that's not how they're doing it.

Ideally they would make the last 4 in and last 4 out play. Kinda shitty if you win your conference and have to play in.

UMN what is the scouting report on Miami?

My Hawkeyes blew it. Lost a bunch of close games this year and then choked away the Spartan game. They got what they deserved.

Kind of pisses me off that we have to beat Indiana...again...to make the Final Four.

I don't know anything about Colorado. But nobody in that 8 scares me.

I think that could happen.

The Big Ten was as brutal as I've ever seen it.

I have no doubt it could happen.

Illinois if clicking can beat anyone in this tournament.

I look forward to you guys taking everyone out of of IU's way in the bottom of that bracket.

I honestly don't follow college basketball that much but here is what I am hearing.

In an era of 1 and done players Miami is built with vets, even some 5 year Sr's. This is a team of men, not men and boys.

Barry Larkin's kid Shane Larkin runs the show from the point and is pretty good.....and is as good defensively as he is offensively.

They have some serious size in the paint.

They play D.

They have lost a few bad games but have also beaten a nice list of tourney teams

They have beaten Duke, NC, NC State and Michigan.

I wouldn't want to run in to them with anything other than my A game.

I think it is entirely possible that we could see an all Big 10 final four. How crazy would that be?

Yeah but I am sure we disagree on the Big 10 rep from the East.

In all seriousness, if I had to put money down on a Big 10 team right now it would be Ohio State.

They are the best team in the West.

The East is really soft. Indy should breeze.

I think the big reason I heard they don't do all the 16 seeds which it should be, is they were worried nobody would show up to the games or watch.

The Big 10 could have the most teams in the sweet 16, Elite 8, & Final 4. The Big 10 is the best conference in College Basketball, & the Hoosiers are the best team in the big 10. I cant wait for March Madness to begin.

Post subject:  Re: The Madness Begins rollin thread

A lot of butthurt Hawkeye fans on my facebook wall that can't comprehend how Illinois and Minnesota can be invited but Iowa gets relegated to the NIT...just so much head shaking...

Was happy to see Iowa State get a 10...right where they belong I'd say, especially since that's where Oklahoma was seeded too. Like any team that lives by the three and dies by the three, I think we have a legit shot at almost anyone in this tourney but I think anyone could beat us as well. Seeing the possibility of a matchup against New Mexico and that piece of shit coach of theirs in the Sweet 16 did get my heart racing a bit, but baby steps...beat the Irish first.

Speaking of douchebag Alford and his New Mexico club...if the selection committee had a sense of humor at all, they would have matched them up with Northwestern State in the first round.

Big Ten getting the respect it deserves based on the regular season, but I'd slow the roll on all the people I seeing picking 5 teams to advance to the Elite 8, 3 teams to the Final Four, etc. Even if all those teams are that good (which I'm reserving judgement), good teams lose this time of year...it just happens.

Finally, the worst thought I may have ever heard regarding seeding came yesterday from someone on the College Sports Nation channel on SiriusXM...I am sad to think that it may have been Bill Rafferty but I can't be sure (if anyone else was listening yesterday, it was the show with John Thompson...the old one).

Anyways, to sum up this horrible thought: Gonzaga is deserving of a number one seed...but he doesn't think they can win the title...so they shouldn't have gotten a number one seed...

....wait for it...

...he would have rather seen a team and/or coach that has won the tourney before get the one seed...

...wait for it...

...Miami.

I know this is Big10 country but the notion of 4 teams from that conference in the Final Four is absurd. Lipid hit the nail on the head - upsets happen and this year it is wide open. If anything this year has shown there isn't one dominant team that can just turn it on and roll through teams. Coaching is going to weigh heavily this year in outcomes I think.

Listening to Colin COwherd today for a little bit, he was pushing Illinois as a dangerous team, something about being in the middle of the Big 10, playing all the tough teams could make them dangerous.
