Kinda cool that we got a second straight 4-star recruit from Illinois. He's listed as a pro-style QB, which would be a big departure for NU. However, I'm guessing with a 4.6 40-yard, there is a chance that WR is an option. The kid's film reminds me a ton of Kafka... but he's a lot further along in his mechanics than Kafka was in highschool.

From Rivals:
Rivals250 quarterback Clayton Thorson has committed to Northwestern to become the second member of the Wildcats' Class of 2014.
The four-star signal caller from Wheaton (Ill.) North chose Northwestern over offers from more than a dozen other schools, including Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Penn State, Mississippi and NC State.

The 6-foot-4, 197-pounder is ranked as the No. 234 recruit in the country. He boasts a 4.6 40-yard dash and a 3.5 GPA, making him an ideal fit for the Wildcat program.

That's pretty typical for a HS QB. They'll bulk him up when he gets to school. He likely won't see the field for some time. We have 2 more years of Trevor Siemian and Zach Oliver, 1 more year of Kain Colter, 4-5 years of Matt Alviti. Unless there are injuries, Clayton will have plenty of time to add the weight.

Thorson is a monster. He's a good get. Saw him play against Glenbard North this year as part of a 2 QB system and if Wheaton North plays him entirely at QB, they likely beat the Panthers.

Iowa was big on this guy - he's a good signing.

Great to hear it, Vince. I have heard rumors that he is indeed The son of Thor... we will need that kind of magic to win another bowl in the next 63 years. ;)

He also seemed to play much faster than his 40 time and had a cannon for an arm.

Justin Jackson (RB, Glenbard North) is going to be a special one too. Word is NU is the current leader with Iowa just behind them.
