Are you kidding me? You lose to that fucking fat slob at QB? What a frickin' joke! One of the most shocking & heartbreaking defeats in the history of Chicago area sports. NU fans deserve better than this. What the hell did you call that timeout for? You gave Nebraska time to regroup.

Overreacting? Bullshit. Fitzgeralds defense blows every year though better statistically this season still 0-5.

I know they're Chicago's Big Ten Team™, but I don't think a regular season Northwestern-Nebraska game can be near the top 10 Chicago defeats.

I know he has had a pretty good offense while being head coach but what about the "D"? NU deserves a head coach that understands that,I don't think he gets it. 2 Freshman at CB but who's fault is that when they enter spring practice and figure out the depth chart.

I usually never like this response but 'Who are you going to get better?" He recruits players that want to attend classes, other schools recruit players that want $$ and think the pros are on the otherside of the table! Once in a while he will get an all american player, but he is coaching sub par talent!

He had like 300 receiving yards in one of the champioship games. I think that was when Ty Isaac rushed for 500 yards or something.

Yeah,so when does NU get some defense? Look at Mich. St.

There is a picture from that last play that shows about 7 NU players watching that catch. Not one of them has a foot in the endzone! That is terrible coaching and it came right after a timeout by NU! Fitz is more "Rah-Rah" and hand clapping than a X's and O's guy. I'm still pissed off about that bowl game loss 2 seasons ago.

I can't argue with your points about bad coaching/execution on that Hail Mary. Rule #1 is keep the play in front of you and their entire defense failed that.

Still, Nebraska is a decent team and Lincoln is a very tough place to play.

Iowa/Minnesota losses much more reason to be angry.

They have been playing with injuries to their best players. Northwestern will never be in a position to be deep enough to overcome injuries.

That would have been an impressive win. Instead it is a deflating loss.

I'm not sure if it's any consolation, but I knew the Cats had arrived as a big time football program when I was walking around downtown Evanston after the game Saturday and there were drunks all over the place.
