Welcome back old friend..... 8)
Feel like I've only seen bits and pieces tonight, really looking forward to this weekend's games.

If Minnesota can somehow score here, we have a game on our hands.

Harbaugh just doesn't have the talent this year.

I much preferred only being able to presume that was the case to actually having it proved to me.

The TV remote sure got a workout tonight. One of my favorite nights of the year. I like the NFL alot, but I love the college game.
Rudock was just awful at QB for the Harbaughs tonight. I was sure that he would be replaced by Morris, but Jimmy stuck with him. Despite the fact that this was his Michigan debut, Harbaugh seemed much more relaxed in this game. I didnt see any ranting or raving. Maybe I missed it?
Cant wait for Friday & Saturday.

As a side project ... eons ago (~1987) I was tired of the saturation (albeit logiclaly so) of Illini/ND fandom and, eschewing also the close-by NW & NIU possibilities, I needed a another Big Ten team so I latched onto MI because of the pro wrestling Steiner Brothers ... it made enough sense at the time and, being a loyal fella, I stick with it to the present and, presumably, beyond. This in turn also led to my 'fandom' of the RedWings after giving up on the Wirtz shitfest in the early 90s ... it was as antithetical to Chicago hockey as I could think of without lowering myself to rooting for anything from St. Louis for any reason, even Dollar Bill.

Only thing left is mop-up on this lame Duke/Tulane game.

And then on to Colorado/Hawaii

Adam Archuleta is the analyst on this Duke/Tulane game. WTF

Twice in a row, in a span of about 60 seconds, the PBP guy directly said AA's name while commenting about something on the screen.....and then waited.....and Archuleta said nothing. Not a peep.
Completely awkward.

Gophers could have upset TCU if it weren't for the goal line fumble. It was kind of bullshit camera/PBP work from ESPN to presume that TCU player had control of the football before going out of bounds when his back was completely turned to them

If Jerry Kill didn't have health problems, he would have a big time coaching position right now

25-27 at Minnesota. So far, he's been Glen Mason 2.0.

I'd take it though.

It's Minnesota and he has had his bouts with health problems mid year several times which has caused some undoing. He's a great coach. The Golphers were Purdue when he arrived

He is under .500. That isn't impressive at any school.

Purdue fired a coach for going 22-27. Jerry Kill is 25-27. You may want to rethink your comment.

What were the records of his teams the 1st 2 years at Minnesota?

So he went 3-9 the first year, then 6-7 and 8-5 the last 2 years, I think that is a pretty good job at Minnesota.

I think he missed a couple of games in there somewhere too.
Not sure if he missed W's or L's.

It looks like they were 4-3 without him including the Michigan game he missed which caused him to take time away.

I think he's a good coach. Just pointing out you don't suddenly get the Notre Dame job because you went 25-27 at Minnesota. Oh wait....nevermind.

Yeah, I think he is a good coach also, I tend to throw out the first year for sure on coaches records good or bad there first year at a job.

That's fair.

I think he's taken advantage of a Big Ten that has been pretty horrible outside the very top. Illinois made a bowl game last year.

No doubt, and especially the West. Wisconsin has had pretty much a cake walk.

Minnesota is one of those "sleeping giant" programs, IMO. Not because of their current head coach, but things like the facilities and division that they are in, plus pulling in B1G $$$.

Washington always seems like another one, but they never really get their act together either. Interested to see if they can hang with Boise tonight.

Sparty has a little problem with kickoff coverage.
They've given up almost 180 yds on the 1st 2 kicks.
