I went to one of these at the Horizon as a young kid in like 1982. It was St. Joseph, OPRF, Weber and York and all were in the top 10 at the time. There had to be at least 10,000 people there and St. Joe's featured Daryl Thomas vs. OPRF Eric Kumerow. Both had 30+ points. I'm happy for me.

Yes exactly. UIC legend. And I think St. Joes also had a guy named Tony Reeder who ended up being a good player at Marquette. They were loaded.

I will be at the Public League Final Four tomorrow. Won't make that one but those should be good games. Good tuneup games for the state playoffs.

I got a chance to see Evanston vs. Morgan Park earlier this season. Morgan Park won by about 10 but the Eastern kid was just returning from surgery. They may be able to beat Simeon. Simeon will have a tough vs. Morgan Park in the final four the day before.

I expect Morgan Park to blow out Riverside. Riverside was overrated earlier this season. They have lived up to the preseason hype. Either Morgan Park or Simeon will have to play 3 days in a row given the olayoffs. Whichever one wins on Friday will probably rest players Sat. so that they can be ready for the public league championship on Sunday.

His gramps sure was legendary.

The NFL decided to allow him to be drafted the night before the draft started.

Morgan Park/R-B was a great game. I walked in and it was 22-3 Morgan Park. R-B came all the way back and had a four point lead with about a minute left before Morgan Park took it to OT and then won it.

Evanston played a terrible game. They couldn't buy a three-pointer. Norvell was doing whatever he wanted. Simeon also had this guy, #24, who looked like a refrigerator. He kept bulling his way to the basket and the Evanston guys just got out of his way. The program said he was 160 lbs. The guy looked like Barkley. Still with about four minutes left Evanston was only down 49-43. It wasn't really close though. I think the final was an eleven or twelve point spread.

Izzo, Wojciechowski, and Pitino Jr. were all there. Of course, no one from Illinois was in the gym.

Yeah, I think their house beers were 7 bucks. It was okay though. Beautiful old bank building.
