Granted like 22% of his team is from SEC states but this still made me laugh.

I always kind of wonder about what the actual standards are for guys going to places like Northwestern, Stanford, Vanderbilt, etc.

A few years ago we had a kid who was recruited for a while by Northwestern. We were told 3.0 and 25 minimum to have a chance at getting in.

I doubt that 3.0 is hard and fast. All 3.0 are not the same

There is a lot of interesting things when it comes to grades and recruiting. The NCAA clearinghouse regards a C in Physics, Honors Physics and AP Phyiscs all as two points out of 4 on the GPA sliding scale. So if you have a kid who is a D1 or D2 athlete that gets mostly Cs in honors classes, put them in regular and get the B to help the Core GPA and lower the needed ACT score.

It depends on how good the player is. The better the player, the more malleable the admissions standards.
