I'm in a keeper league that allows only three keepers per season. I've got four exceptional ballplayers on my team... I finished second last year out of eight teams (small league), so I doubt I'll be able to draft whomever I drop since I'll be picking 7th. It is a standard 5x5 league. I have an idea who I will drop, but would like to hear the opinion of the masses.

Note that the maximum keeper time is 3 years... I will be forced to get rid of Lincecum and Utley next year, Teixeira and Kemp I can keep next year and the year after.

Holy shit that's a good squad and a difficult decision. It's definitely between Utley and Kemp, but I voted Kemp. He's an outfielder and you can draft a decent replacement in the first few rounds.

1st base is the deepest position so I'd look real hard at who is being kept. If you can grab a good replacement (Votto, Morneau, Gonzo) I'd drop Tex and try to win the damn thing this year.

+1

Utley is far and away the best 2nd baseman. I definitely would not drop him. You can get closer production with a replacement 1st baseman most likely.

2B is a premium position, have to keep Utley. I'd drop Kemp as OFs are easier to find that any other position.

I ended up dropping Tex and got Adrian Gonzalez with my first pick to fill that hole. In my mind, Lincecum was a no-brainer keep since he is far and away the best SP. Utley is far and away the best 2B and even compared to other positions he holds his own. I ended up keeping Kemp because I can keep him longer than I can keep Tex (found out that I did have him two years already, so this would have been his last eligible), and I felt if I picked up a 1B right away, I'd be able to find an adequate substitute, especially since this is an 8 team league. Thanks for all the opinions... I hope to be in this same position next year pre draft.
