-Sean Rodriguez is a guy that could develop in the second half, although now that Bartlett is back, his playing time is limited. Good pop, steals bases, average could be better. Only consider him if your 2B sucks.

-Justin Smoak: Has cooled a bit lately but another guy who could pop in the second half. Stash him on your bench if you have room.

-Carlos Beltran: Playing in the minors right now and should be back in a few weeks. Who knows how he'll produce but given his past he may be a good source of power. With his knee issues he probably won't run as well anymore.

-Will Venable: On fire lately. Not a long term option but ride him while he's hot.

Nice picks. The leagues I'm the most competitive in are also the deepest, and so I'm having a tough time finding value in the FA pool. Rodriguez is available but only giving him a look due to Neil Walker's concussion. Smoak is indeed a sleeper once more. I'm liking Gaby Sanchez at CI/Util, as well.

Agree on Sanchez.

Who do you got for pitchers? I'm going hard at a bunch of relievers lately to make up for shortcomings in my SP corps.

Jason Motte - I like his upside behind Ryan Franklin... he scavenges plenty of wins and racks up K.
David Hernandez - Transition out of the O's rotation benefiting his line and the O's pen.
Joaquin Benoit - not a candidate to close, but will give you a starts' worth of quality innings every two weeks, and that adds up by the end of the season.
JJ Putz - still only 9% owned in Y! leagues, easily the best pitcher in the White Sox bullpen of late.
Johnny Venters - ERA leader of all rookie relievers with <25 APP. Bobby Cox digs him and so do I.

Starters I'm into:
Trevor Cahill - Just featured on Y! Fantasy front page, but I've been into A's pitchers all year (even Sheets for a stretch).
Colby Lewis - going through an arm scare and falling K numbers are scary but I'd stick with him and see what happens. Rangers don't exactly have a difficult schedule out in the West and he's a cheap source of boring stats like Wins.
Johnny Cueto - Hot may followed by a poor start to June meant he was dropped across a few leagues I'm in. Doesn't really merit "readily available FA acquisition" discussion but if anyone overreacted in your leagues he's worth snatching immediately.

Middle relievers are always good to lower your ERA, WHIP and increase your Ks at this time of the season, and usually available. Bard, Santos, Thornton, Luke Gregorson, Meek, Putz are all available in my league. So is Trevor Hoffman, if you have the stones. Supposedly he is going to close again at some point.

As for starters, Medlen, Cueto, Anibal Sanchez, Gio Gonzalez, even Jhoulys Chacin are available in my league. All the good ones are taken usually by this point. You just have to hope to latch onto somebody starting a hot streak.

take a look at travis wood for the reds. he onlyt has an 0-1 record but has had no run support. he has a 2.7 with a whip under 1 in 32 innings with 27 k's.
