You should trade it for 2 players to be named later. That would be the shrewd move. You know that's the type of guy you are.

I would go with Ray Rice before CJ or AF. But AP is my suggestion.

I would go with Aaron Rodgers.

yeah, i went the "safe" route and went with AP.

being a yahoo draft, it snaked for the even #'d rounds, so i ended up with sandwich picks... it went like this

round 1 - adrian peterson
rounds 2/3 = philip rivers / greg jennings
rounds 4/5 = antonio gates / mike tolbert (go superchargers!)
rounds 6/7 = julio jones / pussy hardon
rounds 8/9 = ryan grant / bears DEF (the run on defenses was ON at that point)
rounds 10/11 = robbie gould / johnny knox
rounds 12/13 = marcedes lewis / donovan mcnabb
round 14 = DANE SANZENBACHER

free agent move: i took arrelious benn in place of the great dane.

should be alright.... i hope i didn't screw up by taking jennings as my #1 WR as opposed to mike wallace from pittsburgh, but otherwise barring a complete and total collapse of the chargers offense this season i'll be aiiiiight.

i got to see the mighty majestic drew stubbs LIVE today... did you know he's at like .251/15/42 and he stole his 37th base? babe ruth hopes that someday he'll be considered to walk with the baseball gods who all secretly worship drew stubbs.

Really confused about taking the kicker before the last round.
And I believe Tolbert was a stretch in the 5th, I'm sure you coulda got him in the 8th.
How many people in this league?

If Mathews is healthy, your team might be really screwed.

Did you guys know that CJ had 7pts or less in 7 games last year? And that his ypc dropped by over a yard from the year before?

I'm thinking he held out cause he knows his game is going to shit.

well there was a run on kickers in that round, something like 8-9/12 teams took a kicker around there.... and maybe ~6 people were there for the draft. i wholly confess to having no idea about the extremities of my roster cuz like, i haven't played since 2006 or thereabouts so, example, i don't know shit about the SD running back situation. with 6/12 drafting the default yahoo rankings kept on clicking down and he was going to be gone by the time i had my next two draft picks, so what the hell, why not?!?!

anyways, it's a learning experience and with ~2 more drafts on wednesday night i should be better off down the road... i also could have taken another better RB in round 2 and taken matt ryan a few rounds later. shrug.

Yes, I did. That's why I suggested AP, or Ray Rice before CJ.

CJ was the #5 RB last year overall in what was considered to be a down year for him. The Titans were 28th in passing which has a little more to do with CJ's stats than his skills. Kerry Collins and Vince Young don't exactly strike the fear in opposing defenses.

I took CJ #4 over RR but could have gone either way.

My top 4 and its really close are AP, CJ, RR, and JC.

not that i have been in the most dynamic fantasy football leagues ever put together, but i have never been in a league where there was a run on kickers.

Usually it starts in the second to last round and finishes in the last round.

I hold the belief that CJ's "poor" performance was based on his surroundings rather than his declining ability.
QBs last year included: Kerry Collins, Rusty Smith, & Vince Young.
Also, there is a new offensive coordinator in place at Tennessee. I see this as a positive change. (v. Jax in 2010: Collins 34 pass attempts, 16 rush attempts for CJ.)
There is also continuity in their offensive line for this season.

I would be more concerned with AP and trends of other great RBs in the past decade.

There's no such thing as a run on kickers. You wait till the last round and pick the best one rated by your online site or magazine. And I take a D in the 2nd to last round. I love getting in leagues where guys pick a D in the 9th or 10th round.

Agreed. Anyone who takes a kicker before the last round is a douche.

Any anyone who takes more than one kicker should be banned from playing FF for at least 10 years.

Disagree slightly on the defense thing though. Don't think you should ever take them high, but when you get to the later rounds and you're just taking flyers on bench players and sleepers something can be said for getting a top rated defense and being able to throw them out there all year and not have to worry about it. The one or two times I took the first or second defense and ended up with Pitt or Baltimore I never regretted it. Those teams can win fantasy games for you and did for me. That's more than I can say about the Steve Breaston's of the world.
