Gonzalez or Bennet at TE? Keep in mind I also have Marshall and Jeffrey so only so many TD's to go around.

Bennett is playing hurt. There has to be a point in the season where Smith starts forcing the ball to Gonzalez as a retirement gift.

I have an even more difficult play in the first round of the playoffs: Gore, Mendenhall or Donald Brown. The natural inclination is to start Gore without a doubt. However he is playing at Seattle so I expect the yardage to be scarce. Mendenhall is a 3 down back currently with Ellington out and is facing the Rams who are 25th against the run. Donald Brown is now starting in Indy but they are on the road against the Bengals tough run D.

I am really leaning towards doing the unthinkable and sitting Gore for Mendenhall.

1st round of playoffs vs. a certain bar owner from the board.

I'd go with Brown, though I know very little about him. Gore vs SEA is tough, and Mendenhall hasn't done much even when he was the unquestioned starter earlier in this season. His ineffectiveness created more opportunities for Ellington. At least with Brown you know (or I think?) Indy will feed him as the no 1 back, even though he's playing a tough D. I think a tiebreaker between Gore and Brown is the latter is younger, which I think means a lot as a back.

Which two would you start at WR?

Jeffery
Keenan Allen
M. Wallace
Amendola
Roddy White

Jeffery and then flip a coin. I'd go with best matchup.

Sit Stafford and bench Foles.

Jeffrey and Allen quite easily. Only other player in contention is White. Other two are throw aways.

Post subject:  Re: sit or start

Coming off his best game as a pro should I do the unthinkable and sit Russel Wilson who has a tough matchup at San Fran in favor of McNown who is going against the sieve known as Dallas defense. I could also grab Cutler as insurance in case he plays, but then the same question applies only now I have to worry about a rusty cutler.

I already fucked up royally last week when I made a last minute change and took out Chris Johnson and inserted Bernard. Would've won the game and had a first round bye this week, instead I'm the 5 seed and have to play this week.

Last 2 games for Wallace were 127 / TD and 82 / TD. That's not "throw away". And depending on your scoring system, Allen hasn't had a TD since week 9.

I think Amendola finally gets going this week.

Jeffrey and Wallace, with Rowdy Roddy a close third.

I'm going with Mendenhall. This will be the move that solidifies my status of being on the Elmhurst Steve level of fantasy greatness or the scorn of the sports radio airwaves the following week. Pray for me.

Well, it turns out Gore would have been the correct move with a surprisingly big game of +100 yards and a TD. It wasn't a disaster as Mendenhall got an early TD. I left some points on the bench but not enough to matter. Most importantly I moved on to the next round even before Dez Bryant goes tonight.

I'm glad GD didn't listen to my opinion on starting Brown.

I listened to everyone here about Allen and did well, so I'm back for more sage advice: .

I have a similar question for this week, although I've narrowed it down to Allen (DEN) vs White (WAS).

I'm in a PPR league, so Allen's three receptions yesterday are worrisome, and even though two went for TDs, we know that's more of an outlier than anything else. I'd be comfortable with a guy getting a lot of targets that lead to receptions/yards - TDs are a bonus in our league, and not the central axis around which the scoring system rotates.

Post subject:  Re: sit or start

but there is a pretty good chance the Chargers will have to throw the ball 50+ times to win which will increase opportunities and opportunities to score TD

Post subject:  Re: sit or start

well I have the same dilemma as last week. Gore going against a top D while Brown is up against the Texans. I think I have to go Gore

Well, went with my plan and sat Wilson in favor of McNown. 46 pts later from McNown and I put up a very respectable 155 points this week.....unfortunately my opponent had Charles, Vereen, Andre Johnson, KC defense, Prater, Decker and he ended up with over 200 pts. Season over.

That is what I was thinking, at least he is playing indoors and against a bad defense.

Need two:

Reggie Bush is a huge gamble with Monday night...so, I'm really nervous about starting him.
Toby Gerhart...still not sure. AP says he's gonna play...Gerhart isn't practicing until tomorrow.
I have Rashad Jennings (and Marcel Reese)
I have Danny Woodhead.

I'm thinking Woodhead for sure tonight given the matchup, b/c I can't count on Bush or Gerhart, where Jennings I can always plug in on Sunday.

All four are rated to score about the same...(~20-23pts in our league). Woodhead tonight in a passtravaganza seems like a good play.

If all were healthy, I'd likely go with Reggie and either Toby or Danny.

Thoughts?

Julian Edelman vs. the Dolphins or Le'Veon Bell vs. the Bengals?

I went through this earlier in the week trying to decide between Woodhead or Bell and went with Woodhead because, like Doug, thought the matchup favored him. Edelman has been hot lately, but while opposing RBs have had most fumbles lost than TDs against the Bengals, between running and receiving Bell should see more touches overall.

I'm leaning towards Edelman mainly because I think he has a better chance of finding the endzone.

Meanwhile, Jamal Charles has 207 total yards and five TDs with a full quarter left, plus three minutes. Is he on the verge of the best fantasy game ever?

Bush (by cracky) is expected to take on his regular workload. His numbers are very good in Ford Field.
