Anyone ever do a league like this?

In a twelve team league the six highest scoring teams each get a win the other six get a loss. In playoffs same thing. So in Semis to two scoring teams move on to finals.

I just finished one league at 5-8, in 9th place, despite scoring the most points for the season.

All of this after losing Randall Cobb, and watching the implosion of Matt Ryan.

That's a decent idea, although it takes away the randomness/fun of winning when you shouldn't and losing when you shouldn't. Plus the head to head match-up thing makes the league more personal. Just like the real world, the best team does not always win......

That is the way I see it, logical but much less fun.

It sounds like that dumbass basketball league we are in. I win head to head nearly every week but my totals have me in 13th seed in conference?

I tried to do this in a league last year but most everyone didn't like it because it eliminated the "fun" of head to head matchups. I'm still sympathetic to it because it rewards good drafting and astute FA pickups, instead subjecting an otherwise solid team to the vagaries of head to head matchups against clearly inferior teams.
