This will be a continuing series designed to make you win your fantasy football league this year, and if you use the tactics and advice, you should be in a good place to win every year. This issue is simple, your first round pick. You will draft a quarterback. Again, with your first round pick, you will draft a quarterback. Do you need me to repeat it one more time? You will draft a quarterback. Here is why. The top QB's, Luck, Rodgers, Brees and this year Iam putting Russel Wilson in this elite class, will bring you more value than any running back. ANY running back. You have a valid argument about a elite WR, but you can get 10-25 grade WR's in rounds 2-7, you will never get a top, elite QB value from any QB after those four. Maybe Rothlesburger, possibly Romo, but those are prayers. Brady is going in the 6th round in most mocks, thats a steal even if hes suspended 4 games. Year in, year out, there is always a late round flyer RB who finished top 10. Last Year Ingram and Hill, the year before Knowshown Moreno, so they are out there, they always are. An elite QB, like Luck or Rodgers, those are precious and should be the first two picks in every draft, but they last because people are stupid. Take advantage of that stupidity. Draft an elite QB in the first round. Thank me later. Next issue, your second round pick. Duh... Jimmy Thick- Its pretty easy to spell out, if you take a QB in round one. |

A man of my substance and caliber is rather busy and when I do indeed post, those said posts should be savored like long lost Beatles compositions. Kirkwood wrote: literally the worst advice ever. All depends on league scoring. If you get 6 pts for Passing TD it is worth taking someone like Rodgers in top 6. |

Value Based Drafting (VBD) is the best way to draft. |

What's the best draft book out there? I want to crush this year. I can never find the right balance. Either I'm top heavy on RB's or WR's. |

Let's say I am picking 9th in a 10 team league, and the first 8 picks are QBs. Then picking a QB is pretty dumb. So any blanket statement about what to do for an entire round is bad advice. |

In an 8 or 10 team league, drafting a QB in the first round is incredibly stupid. There are only a handful of every down RBs in the league. They are far more valuable. |

Drafted Manning 2nd overall in my 12 team league last year. Won the Championship. Drafting sixth in a 10 team this year...depends on who is gone at RB, but may take Luck. No draft order for the 12 team yet. |

I've got the 1st pick (1st time ever) in a 12 team league. And of course, this is the year where a lot of people are saying "Good year to be drafting at the end of round 1". |

So, who are you thinking? Bell, Charles, Peterson? btw: this is a fun tool... http://draftwizard.fantasypros.com/simu ... ?sport=nfl I think it was posted last year, but good nonetheless. |

That is a cool thing to mess with. I'm thinking Bell. |

Peoria Matt wrote: That is a cool thing to mess with. I'm thinking Bell. Fuck those thoughts. Take Aaron Rodgers or Andrew Luck first. Second round grab the best RB available, third round grab either Randall Cobb or TY Hilton. Enjoy your championship. Jimmy Thick- Giving the rubes cake. |
