so i started having weird issues with my HP elitebook 8560w, mainly not booting up every time i power on. after a few tries it was fine.

i dismantled the whole thing, cleaned, repasted the heatsinks, and put it all back together. worked amazing, ran cooler and faster than ever.

then a few weeks later problem came back. after a couple days, no more boot at all.

suspected bad video card because i would get weird yellow tint on the screen sometimes. $70 card. ouch. oh well, bought it. no change. dammit.

after more research, it appeared the motherboards do sometimes go bad in these things. $80. fuck. oh well, bought it. no change. fuckin piece of shit.

the only part left is the cpu... $150!!! wtf... i7... shit, fuck that. found an i3 same socket for $25. bought it. and now well see. if there is no change i am selling all the parts on ebay as 'like new, fully tested and 100% functional, no returns'

it was the cpu!!

bought a $30 i3 processor to hold me off until the i7's come down in price. no way im spending $100+ for a 2nd gen i7

popped in the i3, and BOOM it works great.

so rare to see a failed cpu... especially an intel one... oh well, at least im back to a nice screen.
