Been thinking I can buy a 40$ Wi-Fi antenna and get it for free instead of paying comcrap monthly. How far can these things steal a signal? Gotta a lot of businesses and hospitals-bars within 5 blocks. Worth it to buy one of these? Or cheap Chinese shit that won't cut it?

Well, stealing internet is a crime, but it also is just...bad internet. The types of places you'd be jacking Wi-Fi from don't give a shit about signal strength or overall line bandwidth.

A "business internet" line opened to the public is usually the most basic plan available, on the most basic hardware available, admin'd by people who don't give a shit or know a thing about running a network.

Is that really worth saving ~$75 a month to you?

You should make the investment in a modem with wifi because that will save you about $130 a year
