...methinks this is the beginning of the end for free online gaming on the PS3...
So which show was better? sony or microsoft?
Oh don't worry...it will be a slow death...they certainly can't talk about how you are going to keep getting the same stuff for free that you've been getting this whole time and then turn around a week later and say they are cutting you off...but i think they are going to find that no one outside of the hardcore PS3 gamer has incentive to shell out 50 bucks when online gaming is already free (and that's a huge credit to Sony)...so they will either be faced with admitting they failed or shifting the focus of Plus to include online gaming. I'm guessing they choose the latter.
As for the better show, I have to give the edge to Microsoft, if only because of the really slow opening Sony had (this includes beating the hell of 3D...I swear every other word out of Kaz's mouth was 3D)...also, Microsoft had arguably their three biggest exclusive franchises making appearances, with two showing premiere gameplay footage...
However, Sony definately takes the cake (pun intended) for having the biggest announcement...yeah, everyone was talking about Twisted Metal, but I really do think the Portal 2/Gabe on stage announcement was even bigger...to have that guy at Sony's press conference, pretty much admitting he was wrong about the PS3 and saying their version of Portal 2 would be the best console version is quite the get for them...
