My son is experiencing game play freeze while playing xbox 360. This occurs while playing live and regular disc play. I have done the steps recommended by xbox support such as clear cache, remove/reinstall hard drive, try different disc, etc... but to no avail.

Have any of you experienced this and if so what course of action did you take?

unfortunately it sounds like that particular xbox is heading towards its first red ring. If it is still under warranty you could try calling microsoft for a replacement but for freezing there aren't a whole lot of options until it finally breaks.

Yep, red ring of death appeared shortly after my original post. Fortunately it will be a warranty fix, but unfortunately Halo Reach will have to wait.

Tell him to go outside and get some exercise.
