Leaning towards the 4K Vizio 65 inch, not dropping the extra $1000 on the OLED, but that shit is ultra cool.

Any Experts out there, as far as TV's go?

I bought a Sharp 43 inch 4k about a year ago. Amazing picture that upconverts 1080p.

I don't know if you are willing to drop down to 55 inch but the price difference can probably get you a real nice set for a lot cheaper.

I just saw a SHARP 55 inch at Best Buy for 679.00.

Personally i wouldnt but anything but oled

Maybe not the best value right now... Especially since lifespan is unknown

But they are phenomenal technilogy and the future.

I had a real hard time calibrating my vizio 55. Took a couple weeks. And it seems to have needed some break in time. Now it's pretty awesome but I hated it for a few days. My 42 LG has a slightly very slightly better picture. Now that it's all broke in they're about the same.

I'd either get a calibration Blu-ray or have someone who really knows what they're doing calibrate it.

Also it's pretty nice to get a smart tv if you have a choice.

pony up for the OLED. You got money, bf.

I've still got my panasonic plasma. Lucked out years ago literally getting it for nothing.

plasma is still a good choice if the heat output doesnt matter and if you dont care about the extra power bills

but nothing beats OLED when it comes to black levels, which are the most important aspect of a tv with the type of movies i watch (dark and scary)

I'm looking at the 55".
The 65" is $1,349 at Costco with free shipping.
A 3 -year warranty is $89.99.
I think it's the best deal around and a great television.

Got the 55 Vizio, have PM'ed Darko on the calibration, because not so happy right now.

This is far from over.

The OLED is awesome, but I am not the TV Theater junkie. I watch some stuff and thats it. $439 at Target! Figured if I really hated it, it goes in the Bedroom or outside, or back to target.

We will see what Darko gives me on the calibration, was going to call VIZIO tomorrow to talk about it.

I think I had to calibrate my old 65 inch Mitsubishi but that was 13 years ago.

My SHARP 43 inch has 6 different picture presets.

What exactly do you have to do on your Vizio?

I always thought Vizio's seemed like a good deal until I saw the big amount of refurbs available.

We were given the in laws old Panasonic plasma. It's kind of tank but it's pretty sweet.

Biggie, did you check out THE LITTLE GUYS?

my 2007 1080p pannasonic plasmas are still getting the job done. If I had to buy a tv today I would go OLED. I dont want any part of vizio.

OLED is really cool until you see black on black. Doesn't work.

Stop yourselves!!!

I still love my plasma and surprisingly have gotten a lot more life out of it than I expected. Also, when I bought our TV, I got it for a good deal at Sears and had them throw in this eastern European dude to come over for free as part of installation to calibrate it.

Vizeo???

Cmon dude, you're a white man with a job. Go get yourself a real TV from a place that doesn't also sell food. Try ABT.

Vizios are good

Big just go to youtube on your tv and search for calibration video

Jim lange has all the test patterns you need. Do each one and youll be set.

Couldn't be more well versed in the ABT plan. Grew up with them.

And the calibration of the vizio doesn't do much, despite what some here will say.

Bottom line is will be getting a Samsung, have yet to determine size.

Need to see the laces on each HR this year

To be fair... it didn't do much because you put zero effort into doing it right.
When you buy your new TV have someone calibrate it.

It's because it just doent matter. When they only have 2 frames, far apart, getting the color right doesnt do shit for the fact that lines dont appear to move during NFL games or most sporitng events. I am far from the TV snob some people are but this Vizio sucks some ass.

Word. Seriously though it's worth a pro calibration.

Or you get the discs. They're good too.

vizio makes basically two grades of tvs.. the e line and the m line i think. the e's are very basic. the m's are good
