People in the city walk 365 days a year. This game was definitely designed around more populated areas. No...people won't be walking just play Pokemon Go...but I think walking to just play Pokemon Go is not one of the major ways most people play the game.

Yeah but I don't want to dick around with my phone when its 9 degrees out. I want my gloves on and my hands in coat pockets while the will to live is slowly sucked away from my body.

It was new and cool to be hunting and playing a game in real life but the problem is the actual game mechanics aren't very good and after you get past the hide and seek portion it gets kind of boring.

You're not wrong. They will need to make improvements.

at this point, i've begun to lose interest. i am finding/hatching/evolving 2 or 3 new pokemon a week but its not as fun anymore. fighting a gym for your coins only to have to real possibility of defending it is just kind of lame.

Got tickets for me and Hank Jr to the Pokémon Live event in Grant Park. Tix were only $20 and they are selling for 300-400 on eBay now. The urge to sell is rising and to hell with being a disappointing dad

I wish I wouldn't have told him that we got them right away.

What a shitshow the festival was today. Total failure in every way by Niantic.

I read about it online. Did you even get in? Wish I had known about how ticket prices would go. I would have bought ten and flipped them. Prior to things going to shit

Lines that were hours wait to get in. We waited two hours and I'm sure people behind us were three or four.

Once you got into the fest, there was no connection on your phone. I'd say less than half the people there were able to connect.

after 90 minutes of wandering around and hoping to log on, we decided to leave and try to come back later. The line to get your hand stamped for reentry was about a half hour long.

Eventually they extended the spawn points for the rare Pokémon to a two mile radius so you could walk around the area and still play. That salvaged the day for my son because he got to catch some cool stuff. Still not as good as if the fest had worked as designed.

So everyone was promised full refunds and $100 dollars worth of in game coins along with a legendary Pokémon. Not surprisingly, I haven't seen any of that yet. Luckily I got my ticket at face value and was only out the cost of a train ride to the city. This Couple behind us in line were from Boston. $400 plane, $200 hotel and $300 tickets on the secondary market. They lose all that.

If I could have done it again, I'd have flipped the tix and made a few hundred. But Hank Jr had a blast so I suppose the joy of a child makes up for it.

Those people from Boston are suckers and deserve nothing.

For sure. That is a stupid amount of money to pay but I can certainly understand their anger. It would be like flying out for a concert and when you finally got in the venue the singer's mic didn't work and the guitar strings were all broken.

Like extras? Yeah, I didn't see a lot of people holding penises.

Some surprisingly good looking women there. For any single non-hideous looking nerds, they should have done quite well for themselves that day. Weird crowd, ages 5 to 80.

i was walking downtown moline the other day and was like, wait, i'll turn it on, there are tons of new things! and there kind of were but it was also still the same ole crap. so somewhat disappointing. a guy at work hacks his gps. he's consistantly at this spawn point in san fransisco.
