I played the beta last night and I was more than a little underwhelmed.
- Very few weapons were unlocked so kinda hard to fell how they handle.
- Sound was nice
- IMU is right, the console version graphics suck compare to what we've seen so far on the PC
- Only could play Rush... I actually prefer Conquest
- Not nearly as big as good ole fashioned Battlefield games (obviously PC is bigger)
- Hardly any destructible environments. Or at least they weren't strategic
- No vehicles on this map
- Looked like the map was pulled directly from a similar one on Crysis 2

I'm really hoping that its better in the final version. I was very disappointed in what I saw. Visually it was sub-par. It lacked all the things that make Battlefield different. I'm hoping DICE is just trying to get the connectivity with Multiplayer right and gave us this garbage to test it without taking up too much room on your hard drive.

Damn it sucks knowing that the experience I am having while standing around holding a pistol is inferior to PC gamers...

Or when moving...or when shooting...or when loading a game.

Except that's not what this video showed...it was video of a guy standing there...

...I'm totally distraught at this development.

Of course you jump to the conclusion that I must not have watched the whole video if I don't agree with you...nevermind the fact that the ENTIRE video was a guy standing there doing nothing...

...oh look, pretty water...I'm guessing if I spent that much time staring at water, I'll be respawning.

I get the point of the video...PC is very pretty...congrats...

We also get 64-players and dedicated servers, in case you forgot.

And here is gameplay of sick 1080p / ultra high action!!!!!1!

I know what I'm doing when I get home.

How nice that they are going to let all 64 of you play in the same match... :P

While it is just plain unnatural for me to agree with IMU, he's kinda right with this one. I think BF3 is going to be fine on the Xbox... but it doesn't look to be a giant leap from BFBC2. Not that that's a bad thing... just different than the experience on the PC.

The game looks better on the PC...I didn't dispute that once...

...I just found the means of displaying it to be a bit...odd...

i'm just an unfrozen cave man lawyer, I don't know much about your "frame rates" or "Giga hertz"... but I do know when a game is fun to play. The BF3 beta is a big meh. I'm not writing off the game. But I was disappointed.

Either I'm doing it wrong or somethings up, cause it runs trough a website? While pretty innovative, its annoying as fuck...

The beta (console version) is boring. If this is just meant to test servers, then great. But I certainly hope this is the most boring level in the game. I think my expectations were waaaay too high.

The beta is annoying because I can't get it to work in full screen without my nVidia drivers crashing...I even have the new 285.38 BF3 beta drivers...still no luck. That entire time on was playing on tiny window mode...1/2 the size of my monitor...probably like 13" widescreen. I looked into it, and supposedly this beta is really old code...so that plus new drivers should have me all good to go by release.

I love me some PC FPS, so I imagine come late October I'll be playing oodles of this.

I can't even adjust the screen on my laptop, so its like a third of the size... but it runs pretty smooth... These snipers in the game are destroying me though... but other than that the gameplay is pretty damn solid

The more I played, the more I liked it...besides the 32 player limit. I'm all about large-scale battles in Battlefields, so Caspian will be nice.

I'm still not used to that whole dying thing... it gets pretty discouraging after a while, I just have to change my mindset from CoD.

Wow that caspian map is pretty badass, but it is putting a hurting on my machine, it keeps freezing, so I've got to rest it for a few hours, but I've never seen anything like that... With a map that big feels like there should be more players...

So no one can review the console version because EA refuses to put it in anyone's hands before the day one patch is launched?

Between this and the inevitable server issues that have plagued every previous BF game I've played, I absolutely cannot justify a day one purchase of this.

Will let the dust settle a bit and see where we are in a few weeks.

Not to seem even more critical of the XBOX 360, but WTF?!?!?

This is the first XBox 360 game that lets you stream game data from the HDD install? That has been standard on PS3 games for years. What gives?

nVidia and ATI are releasing new WHQL drivers before next week's release, which should help immensely. Between the crappy beta code DICE let us use, and the shitty attempt on beta drivers (at least in nVidia's case)...that BF3 beta wasn't the smoothest.

They promise that is remedied by release.

I'm trying to rest my two 8800GTS G92 512 cards for the next few days...they got a lot of work ahead of them until I upgrade.

Because not every Xbox360 owner owns a HDD so each game that is produced needs to accommodate all available SKU's.
