My two cents...might be some minor spoilers here or there, so read at your own risk...

Campaign is a blur to me...problem with doing a midnight launch after you didn't get much sleep the night before...you fall asleep in the middle of missions...

That being said, there was a lot of good stuff in there, both gameplay and story wise. Not going to reveal any spoilers here, but a few of the vehicles were very fun, and the new characters revealed were outstanding, IMO.

I'm still not sure how I feel about the addition of CG cutscenes littered throughout the game...they look pretty, but I've always thought part of Halo's charm was that it did the majority of it's story telling during in game vignettes, with the remainer done with in-engine cutscenes. As a person who has read almost all the books, I really enjoyed the opening cutscene with a certain Doctor, but I'm guessing most people will be completely lost as to the significance of that moment.

I liked the endgame, for the most part...I liked the very bold choice the devs made at the end, but there is one huge glaring problem with the ending (anyone who has played it knows what that is).

I would say the story is certainly better than the shitshow that was Halo 2 and is probably on par with Reach, but it doesn't compare to Halo 1 or 3.

As for multiplayer, I've only dabbled a little thus far, but I like it. It's still Halo, but they've managed to put a lot of little additions into it to make it a new experience (at least for Halo players).

Oh, and railgun for the win.

Saw you online last night, Darkside. You want to co-op or multiplayer sometime? Maybe a CSFMB 360 game night? Doug from EP would be in, I think.

I stayed home today, so I'm thinking it would be a great time to stop dipping my feet in and just cannonball right into the multiplayer...

Yeah for sure. I'm in. I'm not terribly good though yet. I'm playing single player, just made it to Mission 4 and only about halfway thru it. I'm getting better. It seems to help knowing how to use which weapons where.
Yeah lets set something up. I'm free after work tomorrow, maybe noon. And sunday, but theres footey footey football this weekend... :?

Looked this up because interested. The blur effect to keep frame rate up is a dead giveaway.

Seems the opener and closer are CG though.

Yeah, the bookends were CG, I'm pretty sure.

Those in-engine cutscenes were still very impressive, especially the final one with M.C. and the Captain talking on the observation deck.

Very, very well done, even more impressive when you take into account the age of the console.

Normal. I thought that would be normal. I'll replay and bump it up.

Has anyone been playing Spartan Ops?
Very fun. I'm quite enjoying them.

I probably told you this in person but I really have soured on them. Liked the concept at first but they seem to be very disjointed from mission to mission and the whole "just keep respawning until you kill all the enemies" makes this feel like more of a grind and less of an actual mission.

I would have rather had Firefight...that was good stuff.

Right, I've heard Firefight was the shit...
But I'm happy for the ongoing content. My goal is no more than 2 respawns, so I'm replaying anything past that.
Unless I get respawned right in the assfuck load of a bunch of dudes dude inn which case I'm like dude really?

I really should have brought a copy of Reach with me last week so we could play Firefight...I miss Firefight.

I'm guessing they will do a second season...so you'll have that going for you.

Yeah man, I mean, it's quite a novel concept. Credit where credit is due, goddamn great idea to have weekly episodic missions. Brilliant.
I would like to get a multiplayer going on this but the single player Spartan ops are just very cool. New content, free. It's lie a whole second free game really. Better kinda, beacuse of how you get to build out your spartan.
See, I'm a bigfan (scott with one tee) of the autoturret, with the cloaking being a quick second favorite. Nice to sneak and and assinate Knights and shit. Cooooool.

I will say I did really enjoy all the CG videos for each of the episodes...those were pretty entertaining...just not sure I like the direction they took the whole thing with the last one (a certain one armed person working with the Covenant makes me itchy)...

...just hoping Season Two doesn't cost more than 10 bucks.

Ok so I'm playing this but not seeing videos? I'm thru the third week and no videos so far what have I done wrong?
SO you played al the spartan ops eh? It's neat with weekly goals and all that jive. Neat concepts.

Where you go to pick missions there should be an option for episode videos...each five mission "episode" has a corresponding video...the intro video is especially impressive.

...damn, if you enjoy it this much and you haven't been watching those, I'm really surprised. I mean, that's great...but the videos are what really gave me the bang for the buck.

And no, I didn't play all of them...played through the first four I think but I was really getting tired of the hole thing...did watch all the videos though.

I can't get videos to play. I tried. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. It's like press Y for video and I do an nothing happens.

This game has more replay value than any other game I've ever played. And I replay games to death man.
I've played RE4 like 8 times. Maybe 7-8 times thru Doom 3 as well. Medal of Honor Airborne played maybe 4 times thru.
The original Resident Evil, I've played that maybe 20-25 times.

Hmm...strange...

...worse comes to worse, you could probably pull them up on Waypoint...or even easier would be just to youtube them.

Ok I've got options. Dude. I'm in.
But yeah, these Spartan Ops are fun missions, neat environments and I've been enjoying playing them out. I'm also trying to get thru the Campaign under "Legendary" as well, so I've got that going for me which is nice.
