I've only done the B and A licenses, and since I only care enough to bronze them they're ok. What really was killing me tonight was the Miata race. Since there's only one race in the series I didn't want to spend too much to upgrade it, and usually maybe 5k -8k worth of upgrades is enough to win if you have equal cars to start. However I just could not drive that car for shit, it handles like it weighed twice as much as it should. About 8 tries and 35k credits later I finally won it by half a second on the last corner. Fuck Miatas, I hear a lot of people love driving them but I now hate them.

Have 25+ cars at the moment including 13 premiums, but 7 were CE and Gamestop bonus cars. There's some cheat to get cars but can't be bothered.

The Buick Special '62 you win in the Classic Muscle Car Championship is sex on wheels. There's nothing more patriotic than pissing on some Lambos and Ferraris with some genuine American muscle.

What's the most annoying license test / special event for everyone so far?

I couldn't stand the slalom in the Cooper S, and I HATE the Nascar driving school special event. Ugh.

That slalom was the most difficult for me. I had my sights set on gold for all the license tests, and that was the one test that grounded me. I had to settle for silver... The International A tests are giving me a good challenge as well.

The toughest challenge for me is the super car challenge with all cars before 1969. I bought that 57 Pontiac, but the fucker only has 4 gears and I don't want to put the money into a full custom transmission, so I'm fucked on straight-aways...

The premium '70 Dodge Challenger R/T is the same way with the 4 gears, annoying having to drop the credits just to make it go faster than 144.

If you need cars for specific events we can just gift them back and forth to each other. Can only gift one car a day though. God knows I don't want to have to buy a good Vitz or upgrade the shitty ones I have just for the Vitz race. My Special '62 needs 350k credits for chassis repair, how the fuck did that happen? May do the birthday cheat just to fix that.

I got the G27 for $150 on Best Buys scratch and dent site and I've never seen it on there since. I doubt I'd pay full price for it. You can get the Driving force GT for $100 and that would be ok. It is a completely different experience and it's a lot more fun. However if you're already having a lot of fun with GT5 you won't know what you're missing and you should be fine. If you have a good set-up for the wheel, even better. I just have some $25 saw-horse like table from Home Depot and an office chair and it works pretty well, but it could be improved as I haven't figured out a good way to attach the gearshift thing. It's got paddle shifters on the wheel at least. If you play racing games on PC it's good since it's USB, I hear a lot of good things about iRacing.

It sucks the racing soft tires cost so much, but damn it feels like you're driving a completely different car with them. It's easy to get wrapped up in hp numbers, but good tires and suspension may be even better.

I dunno why, but I'm just not getting the urge to play this...hell, I still haven't done a full race yet (just did the B and A license tests the day after I bought it and haven't played it since)...from the little I've played, it's a really good game, but I'm beginning to think I bought the wrong racing game...

Well the "good" thing is that the indications are the game is pretty incomplete...so far. Kaz has twittered about a bunch of stuff that they're patching in. Sure seems like they were told to just release the damn thing already and patch the rest in later. The December 7th patch is supposed to add a whole bunch of online stuff.

Then you don't want a racing game, you want an arcade game.

Uh, no.

As a matter of fact, yes, I would probably like Hot Pursuit better...if you don't think that's a racing game, fine...but last I checked, it had people trying to drive from point A to point B quicker than everyone else...

That would be cool. I'd just send it back when I'm done.

Any interest in a CSFMB race, or tourney? If GT5 actually allows such things of course...

If somebody really wants to try the wheel out for the game you're free to come over sometime to Downers. They patched in the mechanical damage to the online racing, with steering and engine problems among the issues you'll have. Not for "GT Life" yet, but with the number of times the AI spins you out or just rams you if you're in their racing line that may not be a bad thing.

It's amazing how much of a difference knowing a track makes. I can drive around Laguna Seca in my sleep so I do great there but I have no clue what comes next in Cape Ring so I suck there. Reminds me of how much brain space I have filled with useless video game map knowledge, like I could find my way around Vice City and San Andreas with no information whatsoever.

Supposedly someone made a track with the course generator that had a big ass hill. The AI used it as a launching pad.

Improved Rewards
The rewards for winning races in Both A-Spec and B-Spec in GT mode- GT Life have been increased for a limited time only. This applies until the end of January 2011. This is a great chance for those who were previously have difficulties getting ahead in the game, due to lack of funds for tuning and purchasing required cars.

Save Data Backup
You can now copy and restore your save data. For details please refer to the in-game Manual

Anyone got a 60's or 70's race car they'd be willing to lend? I need one for the Historic Racing Car Cup, but don't have the 20,000,000 available to buy one :(

Remote racing is awesome. I have it going all day at work and make like $400,000 a day not to mention all the B-Spec XP you gain. Leave your PSN name here if you have shared drivers and I will race them because I host all day every work day. Or just friend me mine is: PaulC327 Hope they are going to start changing standard cars to premium, happy racing!

If you log in right now you get the Red Bull X1 free. Something to do with Vitelle winning the championship. Only have a week to cash it in.
