Guerilla might be second only to Naughty Dog when it comes to getting the most out of PlayStation hardware. Sad I'm not going to be able to partake in this because it looks fucking gorgeous.

Hmm, I'll have to check with the boy to see if we own a PS4. I can't recall all the hardware that kid has stocked in the man cave. I just play computer games.

This will be a $40 or less purchase for me, but it does look entertaining.

Ok we have a PS4. If you buy on the system or in store, it looks like it comes out on the 28th. But GameStop has a digital download that starts on the night of the 25th. Do you really get it sooner that way?

I will probably get this.

I assume that's what that means.

I stated Doom last week so might not be getting this for a few weeks. Or might just put Doom away and play this instead. Doom is pretty good.

The guy at work described the early download as being able to have the game fully loaded up on your PS4 for play when the 28th comes around. Apparently if you buy the physical cartridge, there is still stuff to be downloaded on the 28th, and it can take several hours before you play it.

I am going to buy this. I haven't bought a console game in years.....maybe it will draw me in.

ah, that makes sense. Bought Doom last week and it took a few hours of downloads before I could play it. I guess if you really want to play it on the 28th as soon as you get it this promotion makes a lot of sense.

my pleasure, its always cool to have someone here to talk about a game we're playing. Hopefully this one lives up to the hype it's receiving. I've watched a few reviews and it looks fantastic.

I bought the GameStop preorder. Hopefully this will be ready to go tomorrow. In a twist of irony, I have tomorrow off (not because of the game), so I will be able to give it shot when I get up.

nice, looking forward to hearing what you think.

I'll probably buy it this week, but won't start it till the weekend. Also trying to finish up Doom before I start a new game.

That isn't irony.

The game was all set when I got up this morning. I still can't get used to controllers with so many buttons. I am a complete console noob. It took me forever to get through the first quest, which was easy after looking back. I get lost easily in those dark caves. I spent about 2 hours on it. Still really in training mode at this point. Lots of cinema stuff/videos where you just watch. It seems decent enough.

ALOY!

starts of games always suck cause they are loaded with cut scenes and tutorials. I'm sure it will pick up for you soon.

gave up on Doom and picked this up yesterday. Been slogging my way through the beginning of the game, trying to figure out the mechanics. Pretty good so far.

Spent some time with this over the weekend. Still getting the hang of it and trying to figure out mods and crafting. Game is good, but I think I was spoiled by playing Witcher 3 and Metal Gear Solid 5 over the past year as this game tries to do a lot of the things those games did, but doesn't do them as well. This game really focuses on stealth, but the stealth mechanics suck when compared to MSG5. Likewise, the story and questing remind me of a poor man's W3.

Combat is good, but the lack of lock on feature really hurts the melee combat when you are in tight with an enemy. End up fighting the camera more than the enemies.

Spent another week with this game and its growing on me. Combat is really fun and a lot more detailed than I originally thought. Killing some of the machines is a real chore and requires multiple weapon types and strategies just to take down one. But its a lot of fun trying to figure out which arrows to use and which body/armor parts to target.

a month later and I'm still playing this. Logged 65 hours and am pretty close to the end of the game. I think I only have one more main mission.

Really good game, definitely worth playing. But, as with a lot of games, you get pretty overpowered towards the end.

Finished the game. Solid 8/10 in my book. Excellent combat, interesting story, great graphics. On the negative side, lots of little niggling issues brought the game down a couple points, but none of them escalated beyond annoyances in the grand scheme of things.
