What do you nerds think of this? Switching between tablet and tv seems cool.

The controller looks wonky and too big. What's up with the tiny d-pad too?

This looks dope as hell. I saw they've already got a shitload of 3rd party support.

Edit:

After the ungodly success of the wii anyone who wouldnt take a shot at their next idea is an idiot

I dont think this will be as popular... Its not a new idea... But it will do well because there will be a ton of games for it

I'll wait for IMU to tell me how to feel about this. He's the only authority on video games around here.

But if IMU talks about videos games, he violates his own code. A man's gotta have a code.

ike is right on the money here. the original wii was renown for its massive library of shovelware because it sold a metric fuckload of units and therefore all the stupid people buying them needed stupid games for some good ol fashioned stupid fun*. the wii u was way more of a "failure", but i gotta admit that mario maker on there is pretty fucking awesome even though i've never attempted to try and make a level once.

* = wii mario kart over the internet was awesome. way better than the one for wii u IMO.... adding 1000-2000 points to your VR score meant something in that game!

I gave up on talking about video games a lot years ago. This is why the "Most Anticipated Games of (year)" threads don't happen any more.

I'm more into buying games and then never playing them.

I still have Uncharted 3 in plastic. I think that game came out in 2011. I'm not exactly up to date.

I still have Dragon Force for the Sega Saturn. I think that game still goes for ~$150+. I never could beat the final boss of the game, but I did everything else with it (including lugging it along to see the band Dragon Force so I could hold it up in the middle of a tryhard mosh-pit and get "the nod" from their lead singer). What can I say, i was @#vidgames/! back in the day, so go figure that I'm not exactly up to date either.

TLDR = i tend to have way more fun emulating old games than playing new video games. anyone here fuck with AM2R (Another Metroid 2 Remake)??

@ IMU  I still have Madden 14 wrapped in plastic at home for the Xbox 360...a buddy borrowed some money about a week before the game came out and I told him just buy the game for me as we're even.

The only issue I have w/ this thing is that the controller cords are only 2.5" long, incredibly short. Why the fuck does Nintendo ALWAYS have to fuck up on something. They're not USB controllers, either, they have the same connector as the Pro Controller that connects to the Wiimote, so you'd have to buy a separate, unlicensed, extension cord.

I tried to pick up the NES classic this morning. Went to the Target by my house and was about 15th in line. Target only got 9 of them. This thing will be hard to get this holiday season.

Switch comes out in a week or two. Looks to be getting positive reaction so far, at least in terms of the hardware. Zelda comes out on launch day, looks really good.

If Zelda gets great reviews I might get one of these.

Breath of the Wild looks to be the only thing worth getting really excited about for a while...and they are releasing it for the Wii U as well...so I think I'll pass for now.

Virtual console won't be available at launch and it sounds like multiple reviewers are having the left joycon lose connection on them...enough so to the point that it's causing deaths in Zelda playthroughs.

Sounds like this thing could have used a little more time in the oven.
