I didn't see a thread...I even did the google search for one...

This is great...hunting, herding cattle and cheating at poker...good times...

Pretty good game, but it got really repetitive toward the end of the 1-player story. It seemed like every mission was exactly the same after awhile.

Agreed. But somehow the sandbox got pretty boring to me. Too much riding around aimlessly. But I suppose it provides some pretty humorous moments:

I gotta borrow this game from my friend .... I made him play it for a few minutes, and he was kind enough to lasso a nun, leave her on the train tracks, and ride away to a safe distance as the ol' choo-choo came by and turned her into little nun bits .... it was then I knew I was in love.

It was repetitive by the end, but at least it was straight up killing dudes. Herding cattle and chasing horses were fun, but nothing I needed to do more than once .

So, that's why it won Game of the Year...

...not sure if I'm ready to say it's better than GTA IV, but it was certainly different enough that I don't feel like I've played this game a few times before, which is what I was expecting prior to picking it up.

Definately one of the two or three best games I've played this past year, and it wouldn't be a stretch to say it's one of the best of the decade...good stuff.

ok I'm an hour in and so far its ok.

I'm a little confused, I got a note about being able to travel a lot easier but I can't quite figure out how to do it. Driving the horse is really hard, I can't keep that sucker on the road.

It's not necessary to do, but I found if you pushed "up" on the LS it was easier to fine-tune the horse's heading (as opposed to just steering left/right with the LS centered rather than pushed "up").

man, shooting guns while driving a horse or carriage is really hard. How do you keep your carriage going straight while at the same time trying to find someone to shoot at and also trying to find that tiny little recticle on the screen?

I hope that gets easier as I get further along.

And shooting in general is either way too easy or way too hard. Often as soon as I pull out my gun it auto targets right on the bad guy which is way too easy, but then sometimes it doesn't and I'm left trying to line up that tiny recticle with a bad guy while at the same time avoid being shot.

I don't think I died more than 5 times the entire game. Shakes is a little to much of a Shakiest gun in the west.

I only died once so far and that was because I committed suicide by jumping off a cliff after my horse died and I didn't feel like walking all the way back to town. Its definitely a forgiving game cause I've been shot several times and it hasn't slowed me down.

I've been playing this for the last three days or so. It's jumped up to #1 on my list. Really addictive. How does the multiplayer work? It seems like we have a few posters with the game, so if the multiplayer is any good, I'm in...

As I said in Bears chat, I have no idea what the purpose of that shit is.

I tried messing around with it for about ten minutes the other night, and for my troubles I got to ride on a mule (instead of a proper horse) for about half a minute and otherwise kept getting shot to death by people for no reason that I could discern other than they just felt like it; maybe the answer is in those old Time-Life books (".... he shot man - just for snoring!"), but I ain't callin' that bitch Judy to find out.

So how does the multiplayer work exactly? Just a big "world" full of weirdos shooting eachother and playing cards?

From what I gathered out of it, you start out in a free roaming open world where you can basically do whatever you want, but with other people...consider it an interactive lobby...from there you can start various gametypes...

...so yeah, when Don was roaming around, people were probably killing him simply because they saw the donkey and knew he was a noob....I got killed a lot but that was because I kept annoying some people who wanted me to join up with them...I'm an ass, that's how I roll...

...from what I've read, as you rank up, you get better mounts and eventually you unlock a buffalo...which I think would be pretty cool...

And lipid was correct, I am referring to APB.

From what I read about this, people seemed to like the idea but the game wasn't very good and not enough people bought into it...

...one of the funniest things I've read in a while was a letter someone wrote into Game Informer a few months ago...they basically blamed Game Informer for killing the game because they told people not to buy it...I mean really getting bitchy...Game Informer replied that the game was pretty much garbage and that they couldn't, in good conscience, recommend it to people...

I haven't played much online, but killing noobs on donkeys is hilarious.

When you played this game we're you a good guy or bad guy? Does it really matter? I've been doing all the missions, but I really want to be a bad guy (shocker). So I decided to just shoot a random guy in the back while walking around Amardillo and then all hell broke loose. Ended up killing a few more while on the run. And then some dude was driving by really fast on a horse so I shot him to just for the sport of it. but, now I've got this $325 bounty on my head and all I've got is $60.

So is it too much of a pain in the ass to be a serial killer in this game? I don't want to spend the whole game scrounging to earn enough money to pay off my bounties.

I read that I can go become a bounty hunter to pay off my debt to society. That sounds fun. ANyone know how you do that?
