You and I both know that if it is 10 quality hours, then it is worth it. If it's 40 lame/infuriating hours, then not-so-much. I'm optimistic that Echo mode will allow for some great co-op action that will give this game some decent replayability.

Not really in to the whole survival-horror genre.

Hear you. But then again there hasn't been a good one since the first couple Resident Evils or the first Silent Hill. This game plays like a very nice third person shooter.

I made it to the third chapter last night. There were some good jump-out-of-ya-seat moments. Gameplay is definitely improved... mainly the melees and the use of the Telekenisis powers. Inventory slots make you more aware of your ammo and more careful with your shots. The baddies aren't particularly tough so far, but each room is beautfully rendered. It's a tunnel game, so some may not the linear feel to it, but I don't mind. It has a Bioshock feel to it. I haven't played multiplayer yet.

I also finished Deadspace Ignition, the DLC which opens up a few new items in Dead Space 2. Now that is a tedious game... I would avoid this... not worth the aggravation.

it's on sale for $40 with free shipping at Amazon (for xbox 360/ps3/PC). The first one had some pretty scary moments and this one promises more of the same. Bought myself a copy. Just be sure to report it on your use taxes form next year so the dopes in Springfield get their due

link to the 360 listing:

edited to fix the link. oops.

Yeah, I guess you are somewhat right... but I thought RE4 was more of an action game than survival horror. So was RE5... and so far of what I've played in DS2, I think it too falls a little shy of really scary stuff.
